My wife is from the Philippines but works in HK using only a work visa. I filled our application using the HK checklist. Somewhere in the forms it says that as long as you are presently living in HK you can use HK forms. I haven't read anything anywhere to contradict that.

Generally Sponsor Approval happens first through out the process.

You basically will have be proving that you havent been on any social assistance. Dont matter what country you have been living in, you should have proof of where you worked, how long and how much you have been making.

You write back to them explaining pretty much what you just wrote here. What else is there for you to do?

Im guessing you are fiiling the form in French. Somebody else earlier who was doing it in French also some issues completing the forms. You might retry filling that form in English.
