My final destination is Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. If I travel by Emirates airlines, my route will be Dhaka - Dubai - Toronto - Saskatoon (change to domestic flight). where should i do the landing process? Toronto or saskatoon?

Anyone landed in Saskatoon?

Definitely Saskatoon as you have SINP. Don't even think of landing in Toronto. If you do, the Immigration Officer will see your SINP document and reject you immediately. You have to land in Saskatchewan.

if you have connecting flight then it should be ok.

check with someone who did samething.

as a Pr they cannot stop you to land anywhere. you can mention you have a flight for saskatoon by showing them your ticket.

@Duckirha - Congratulations on your upcoming travel. I understand you are PNP nominee and your final destination is Saskatoon.
I am sure there is no direct flight from Dhaka to Saskatoon and you are flying by Emirates which lands in Toronto and you take domestic flight to Saskatoon.
To help you clarify -
The 'Port of Entry' is the first destination you land in Canada, which for you is "Toronto". You will do the landing formalities at this airport. Hope this clears your doubt.
What you need is connecting tickets from Toronto to Saskatoon, which I am sure you will have and showing this to Border Security/ Immigration will suffice your onward journey.
All the best !

You have no choice, you will be doing your landing in Toronto as you clear customs here for your ongoing domestic connection.

Don't stress, you won't have any issues doing it there especially as you have ongoing flights.

JoacRy I would advise you do a research of whatever you suggesting before typing it so it doesn't mislead or scare people... why would u think of the immigration officer rejecting him ? He is getting a connecting flight to Saskatoon and so he must do his landing procedure first in Toronto, all he has to do is show connecting flights and all necessary documentation...

Congrats Duckirha on your landing and goodluck ;D

I was not trying to mislead by any means. the 'Landing ' procedure should be done when one transits through 'Immigration'. My understanding is that he will not clear customs through immigration but got to the 'Transfer Terminal' at the domestic airport. When he arrives in Saskatoon, only then will Duckirha go through the Landing Process.

As Duckirha is not immediately embarking onto Ontario soil, he can do a transfer without the need to go via Immigration.

The context behind the word 'Landing' in my previous post refers to physical dis-embarkation from the aircraft, collection of luggage, and travelling from the International to the domestic airport at 'Toronto Pearson'. The context behind the word 'Landing' for immigration purposes is presenting documents to immigration/customs as part of the final stage of the PR process.

If this is wrong I stand corrected.

You should know that there is no " transfer terminal at the domestic terminal " at Canadian airports, you "land" at the first international airport on arrival.

My humble apologies. Thank you for correcting me. I know there is an International & Domestic Terminal at Toronto Pearson. I did not know that you had to clear 'Customs and Immigration' first before transferring to the 'Domestic Terminal'.

One has to clear customs and go through immigration at the first airport in Canada. This is the port of entry and all the formalities of new immigrant will get completed at Port of Entry.

Hi duckirha,

You should have no problems landing. Toronto being the Port of Entry, you will go through all the landing process; and as others have pointed out, your connecting ticket will suffice. When are you planning to move?

Btw, my destination on COPR is Regina. However, I plan to land in Toronto, stay back there with friends for 4-5 days, then move to Saskatoon.
Since I will be having a pre-booked domestic flight to Saskatoon, landing shouldn't be a problem. Moreover, moving to any particular location in the province should be okay. Just need to have the right documents and convince the immigration officer.
Hope that works.

Word of caution, since you are PNP applicant, staying for few days in Ontario may be looked upon with suspicion that you will not go to Regina and your intention is to stay back in Ontario.

I get the point you are trying to make, but at the same time, I hope the officer gives the benefit of the doubt in this case. It's not exactly cost-effective to head directly to Regina, stay a few months there, then fly back to Toronto to visit friends. I don't think staying in Ontario for a few days before heading to Saskatchewan is totally unreasonable, and I would think this scenario happens often.

I don't know, how the officers at the airport take this as well as I am not aware if this situation happens how often ! I understand its not cost-effective to come back to Ontario and visit your friends but image the cost, if the officer takes this stay with suspicion and does not give benefit of doubt. What if the applicant is not able to justify the motive correctly and there is some miscommunication or different interpretation. Its a 50-50 situation and the risk involved is very high compared to all the efforts one has taken to reach the PR and reach Canada.
Right now we are just speculating and suggesting scenarios that may/not occur and not trying to scare anyone. Weigh your options wisely and plan.

Thank you so much everybody. It's Really helpful for me to make the plan. We are planning to do our landing process in Toronto. I don't have any plan to stay in Toronto, off course, we will have connecting flight to Saskatoon. I found if i select Saskatoon as final destination, Emirates gives me domestic flight with other airlines.
