Hello everyone,
I would really appreciate your great help to fill the RQ form. I’m sure that most of the items already covered in various threads in the past, but it’s taking ages to search for them. I have the following questions,

Under section Home and Family Ties,

Q 9 ( list from the earliest to most recent where you have lived during your relevant period.
If I lived with my family in a city for some time and during that we went for vacations, do we still need to list those destinations separately in the answer of this question or we mention only the city where we lived. We already are including the full details of every trip including our vacations in a previous section (Absences from Canada).

Q 10 Where have all of your family members (e.g. spouse, common-law partner, children, mother, father, brothers and sisters) lived during your relevant period?
Same thing here, do we need to mention again the full details that cover their vacations as well and everywhere they worked? If my family including all is very big, then I will end up with a very long list. This is confusing me. Please explain.

Q 11:During your relevant period, for each family member of your immediate family (e.g. spouse ,....children) provide legal citizenship/immigration status in the country the reside. Please include status in Canada ( if no status, include NA.
Again this confuses me. Do we include status in places during vacations e.g. visit visa. If this is the case I will end up with a very long list for every family member separately especially we traveled a lot before moving to Canada and within the 4 years relevant period.

Under section Education Ties

Q 13. If your spouse or common law partner or children are living in Canada , are they attending school?
Do we need to list the schools for all kids every year separately during the relevant period. This means again a long list. Please help.

For your first 3 questions, do NOT mention anything related to vacations (places, time, visa, etc). This is about place where you've generally lived or currently lives (typically you own the place or pay rent). The section about absences deals with vacations and all other absences.

For the last question, YES, you need to list all schools attended DURING THE RELEVANT PERIOD ONLY. You MUST attach another sheet (EXCEL or WORD) if the RQ form does not provide enough rows (this is true for every question on RQ or citizenship application)

Good luck

Hi Everyone ,
I need your help to answer question No. 11 of the RQ

Q 11: During your relevant period, for each family member of your immediate family (e.g. spouse ,....children) provide legal citizenship/immigration status in the country the reside. Please include status in Canada (if no status, include NA).

My question,
Before moving to Canada, I worked in another country and we used to have a Work visa in that country. We came for landing and explore Canada (TORONTO) and then we moved back after two weeks to make the final arrangement for the move. Two months later, we relocated to Toronto. Of course we became PR after landing. After settling in Canada for few months, I had to go by myself back for short visit to finish some papers in the country where we resided previously and I cancelled the visa there for all my family and came back.
This question and its table confuse me. Can you please give me example how to fill the form below for me and my family?

Family Name, given name(s)
Status in country where they reside
Date Status obtained outside Canada (Y/M/D)
Status in Canada
Date Status obtained inside Canada (Y/M/D)

I very much appreciate your help. Many Thanks.

Looking at the question, i can say that they need to know the details about your immediate family members. It can prove your ties to Canada.

You need to provide details about your wife and children's legal citizenship/immigration status in the country they reside. Please include status in Canada (if no status, include NA)

I hope someone experienced person can provide more information related to this RQ

Thanks Thecoolguysam for your reply. What confuses me is that the form doesn’t show From/To period and still requires to be completed for the relevant period and that is 4 years. If I take my part for example, do I have to fill this way,

Family Name, given name(s) XXXXXX
Status in country where they reside Permanent Resident of Canada
Date Status obtained outside Canada (Y/M/D) write the date I had on my Work visa in the previous country in which I lived before moving
Status in Canada Permanent Resident of Canada
Date Status obtained inside Canada (Y/M/D) the date I became a PR

Is the above correct??? I’m not sure. What about my status before I moved to Canada and within the specified relevant period?
Experts, Please help me answer this question correctly. Applicant who filled RQ , please share with me your thoughts. Many Thanks.

Please wait for an advise from some forum member who has gone through RQ experience. You may call CIC call centre too to ask the question.

Guys,
This is such an amazing note !!!! look what RQ can do to all applicants who had to write it. They are either not visiting this forum anymore or the RQ made them sick of it that they don’t want to talk about it. Trust me I do understand you very well. Never mind.
:)

I strongly believe that CIC should think of rephrasing some questions in RQ especially Q.11 I explained earlier. I checked other posts and I can see it caused such a big confusion amongst all applicants. Isn't there a better way to write questions?!!!!!

I will answer it the way I think is correct and then attach an appendix explaining in detail my situation including Status during the relevant period. that should make it clear for them. :D
