Hi sapguru,

Did you got the answer for the Q11 answer for your wife? Did you put one line or both lines as you mentioned in your original post. I am in the same situation. Landed in June 2010 and then came back in April 2011 to live here permanently. Did you call CIC. Please help.

Thanks.

I have two lines for Q11. I also called CIC but their answer is no better than this forum i.e. not an authorized answer.

Family Name, Given Name | Status in Country where they reside | Date status obtained outside Canada | Status in Canada | Date status obtained in Canada
ABCD, XYZ | Citizen | DoB | PR | Aug 10, 2009
ABCD, XYZ | PR | Aug 10, 2009 | PR | Aug 10, 2009

For Q10. did we need to mention the residence of sisters, brother and parents also? Just confused coz why CIC wants to know about sis, bro and parents???

Also the "Date status obtained outside Canada" in second row should be N/A??? coz Aug 10, 2009 is your PR date which is for Canada, for outside Canada during that period, it should be N/A... what you think?

This doesn't make sense, in my opinion this should be like this ...

Family Name, Given Name | Status in Country where they reside | Date status obtained outside Canada | Status in Canada | Date status obtained in Canada
ABCD, XYZ | Citizen | DoB | N/A | Aug 10, 2009
ABCD, XYZ | PR | Aug 10, 2009 | PR | Till Date

No I think N/A should be in second row for "Date status obtained outside Canada". The "Status in Canada" in first row should be PR because they went back to home country after getting PR in Aug 2009....

I think Landing Date for second row under "Date status obtained in Canada" does not add negativity to the facts. You may leave it blank.

2 rows provide more and clear details as compared to 1 row.

I am still gathering supporting documents.

Hi Sapguru,

One question. Did you mention that you declared yourself as "Resident" for the initial period when you were not in Canada (i think in your case its 2009). OR you did not file the tax returns for that year?

regards,

No, I did not mention either myself as Resident or filed tax return in 2009 or 2010.

I mentioned when i did actually terminate my job abroad i.e. in 2011 when I moved to Canada permanently.

One question in general...

Whoever gets the RQ, must have this situation where he/she needs to put some period of time outside Canada (out of 4 years relevant period). For example, if someone came to Canada in June 2009 as PR. Filed the application in June 2012. Got RQ in July or Aug 2012. Now for his 4 years relevant period, 3 years are in Canada and one year in his/her home country. Am I right? So the situation we are facing, everyone should have it who fills the RQ????

Yes my situation is also similar as you describe in the second paragraph. Now for question 14, they say please provide detail, so what sort of detail did you provide? I terminated mine while on vacation.

In my case all I have is an email resignation letter, but don't have termination letter, exit visa copies. My employer was not releasing passport and releasing me. They did not accept the resignation , but I just send it to them. Will that suffice? Did you include all this in the RQ.
