hi mishi,

the only area i could think of where this might be a concern is question #9 of Schedule 1 - Background Declaration. One of the tick boxes there states:

"been refused refugee status in, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa or visitor or temporary resident visa to, Canada or any other country, or have been refused a Certificat de Selection du Quebec(CSQ) to Quebec"

i think it is best to declare this. you might get into a much tighter situation if they find out about this on their own.

hope this helps.

hi everyone. it's been awhile that i was not active in the forum. hehehe. just wanna share my landing experience. we arrived here in toronto just the other night, November 12 at around 8pm after 14hr flight from hongkong. We landed a little bit late at the Pearson International Airport due to the heavy fog and air traffic. Then we headed 1st to the immigration booth. the immigration office asked for our passports and the declaration card( Flight Attendant will provide you before landing). He asked us how many bags we checked-in and if we have meat products etc. be very honest with the officer since he/she will indicate it on the declaration card and it took us 5mins. after saying Welcome to Canada, he then instructed us to proceed to another immigration officer. the second immigration office, asked for our passports and CPR. Asked several questions such as our proof of funds, address in canada where the PR will be sent, asked us to sign on the CPR and advised us to wait within 4-6weeks for the delivery of the PR card. he was very accommodating and friendly at the same time. After that process, he said: Welcome to Canada and advised us to proceed to another booths for new immigrants. They gave us brochures and handouts on how we will start our new life here in Toronto. Then off we go to claim our baggage. The trolley is charged CAD$2 and it's not refundable so better if you bring Canadian dollars. Don't worry there are money changers inside the airport. After claiming our baggages( 4boxes and two heavy luggages), we headed to the customs and gave him the list of the goods we brought to canada. Please prepare it ahead of time maybe in excel or word format. That guy asked us if we have Balut inside our boxes, meat products, seasonings( pork or meat cubes) and cigarettes. At first he was not convinced but we insisted that we only have dried mangoes with us. And then he said" Ok.. welcome to canada!" immigration did not take us that long. it was fast.

HI VERY INFORMATIVE THANKS. CAN YOU ELABORATE FURTHER IN THE "QUESTIONING OF PROOF OF FUNDS"? LIKE IN MY CASE OR WHOEVER IN THIS BLOG MIGHT BRING ONLY 20% OF THE $10,000 AS CASH AND THE REST WILL BE AS A BANK CERTIFICATE? I MEAN IS BANK CERT FROM A PHILIPPINE BANK OKAY TO BRING IN CANADA TO PROVE YOUR POF? OR A BANK DRAFT WILL DO??? THANKS... OTHERS CAN ANSWER AS WELL/. THANKS

was not a problem with me when I declared that I was denied as a visitor (tourist visa) for US and even Canada!
My wife and I applied as tourist for Canada last 2008, denied in a just 3 weeks yata. Applied FSW 2009 and got visa at 2010.

hi m2canada,

would you actually know when the clinic would send your completed files to the embassy for evaluation? Isn't it that within a 2 week window, if you haven't heard from the clinic it is most likely that they would have forwarded your file. But no notice would be given to you.

hi rich!if the dmp does not contact you within the 2 weeks window time most likely your papers are being processed for submission.to know the exact date of transmission(of the medical results) to cem from the dmp, you can call or email them(just like in nationwide).good luck!

in my case, umabot 90+ days b4 nareceive ko yung medical request. Check mo timeline ko. I emailed the embassy on the 90th day, pero walang reply. I emailed again on the ff. week then nagreply yung embassy na they already mailed the MR. Sa case ko, the cause of the delay was frm the post office. Sept. 8 yung date ng MR, pero nareceived ko oct 5 na, almost a month ang tagal. I checked with our local post office everyday since nag in-process yung ecas ko.

Don't worry, darating din MR mo soon. ;) ;) ;)

congrats kooks! im so happy for u!

i wish to ask if you sent an e-mail to the embassy or u just waited til the PPR arrived?

tnx a lot and God bless!

hello po sa lahat! i've been reading your posts for the past few months and i'm learning a lot from all of you... its been more than 3 months since my 2nd AOR (aug. 13) and i haven't received my MR yet. Under FSW program po ako... do i have to worry? nag-email na ako yesterday sa embassy but there's no response yet... sobrang anxious na talaga ako...

Yes I emailed them friday, last week, November 12 to b exact. I asked them if they have received my RPRF, that was the suggestion pra dw d obvious na ur asking about ur case, pro d n cla nakapgreply kc nareciv ko ung PPR yesterday. I'v waited for 66 days (holidays r nt counted) for the PPR.

@Vince- i think i know u, i think ur my friend :D
