to lola_basyang,
job_seeker was right. and you have to wait for at least two years before you can apply for an open work permit. and after you get your open work permit, you have to wait for a few months again before you can apply for permanent residence for yourself and your gf/common law partner.

well, we are currently applying for FSW now... my question is... if we apply for live-in caregiver as individuals, will our current application for FSW be overruled by the live-in caregiver program?

we are on the process of passing all the documents this week for the FSW...

Yes. Your will get the maximum points for work experience.

ok thanks.

ito ang self assessment ko

education = 20
language = 12
spouse = 4
age = 10
experience = 19 or 21...

kung ang experience ko is 19, 65 points lang ako, pero kung 21, then ok na sa 67.
my wife is in canada, pero 8 months pa lang siya dun, wala pang additional points.
ano sa tingin ninyo? mag-submit na lang ako?

You have 2 ways to apply:

1. File PR application after 4-5 months being your wife as the principal applicant under the Canadian experience class. But your wife's Canadian experience must be minimum 1 year.
2. File PR application now bing yourself as the principal applicant. You will get 67 points. I suggest take this route as Manila visa office process PR application very fast these days.

hello everyone!

this is a very helpful forum especially for hopefuls like me who didn't hire consultants.

I just filed my application on jan. 13, 2010 in CIO, NS. They got it Jan. 20. I don't know what Im gonna do next besides preparing for IELTS, daydreaming and becoming anxious ;D.

They haven't replied yet. I used my credit card in paying the application fee. no amount charged to my account for it so far.

What's next? Can I start requesting for letters of reference from my previous and present employers and notarize dox as contained in the checklist?

Thank you for sharing any input.
