@ Mari_cnd

of course It's not direct flight. Dalawa tlg ang airlines. Manila-Narita(japan) Japan airlines and
Narita-toronto -air canada. Not bad Airlines, Lalo n yung Japan Air, own monitor/TV in-front of you with video games kahit sa economy. And the travel time period is only 18hrs and 50 mins. The online ticket is the expedia.com

handcarry your headsets with you. kahit na yung malalaki or kahit those that are used for ipods. Watched one eposide of HBO's The Pacific from Vancouver to Edmonton, it made my landing experience complete talaga. ;D

I bought a tickets worth US$2342.50 good for 2 adults and 2 Child.
Manila to toronto sa online ticket.

And then sa travel agency ang quotation nila sa akin ay US$4000. Adult-US$1120 each n child-US$880 each.

Kainis noh!

Hi pamazana,

I agree with you...booking online will almost always give you a better rate vs travel agency but there may also be some exceptions, during promo tie ups with airlines given exclusively to travel agencies.

Anyway, I would like to share how my coworker got a very good airfare rate (to Australia) with extra baggage allowance for first time immigrants. She went to International Organization for Migration (IOM) located at Units G & H, 25th Floor Citibank Tower Condominium, 8741 Paseo De Roxas, Makati City

Tel: +63.2 848 12 60 to 63
+63.2 848 12 65
+63.2 848 12 71
+63.2 848 12 56
+63.2 757 08 85 to 87

URL: http://www.iom.int/jahia/Jahia/activities/asia-and-oceania/east-and-south-east-asia/cache/offonce/

I was able to call their office but the person in charge for Canada (Mr. Kent Madarcos) is out on fieldwork/official business. But the lady who entertained my call instructed me to email him instead at kmadarcos@iom.int re travel requirements, sending copies of travel documents for all passenger and date of travel. He will be the one to find the most reasonable, if not cheapest airfare package.

For those who are still looking for a good package, you may try calling IOM or emailing Mr. Madarcos.

Hope this helps.

JAL naman pala airline mo...i believe you got a nice deal...i tried Continental Airlines for Nov. 24 (example only) and got this quote online for almost 19 hours in flight, 2 connecting flights in HK and NY/NWK to Toronto

2 Adults (age 18 to 64) $1,497.33
1 Child $815.33
1 Child $668.33
Additional Taxes/Fees $223.60
Total Price $3,204.60

@filcpa

Hi,

No worries to use the PO Box address for sending your RPRF, I did used the same ads for my RPRF and now PPR na kami. :)

Thank you, ndpadin.

Hi guys, Im new here po.
Just want to ask for any opinion or maybe meron po dito na same case sakin. Nagpamedical na po kami ng husband ko yesterday, ni-declare ko po na I had a miscarriage last Aug 2009 and na-raspa po ako. Tapos meron pa po follow-up na raspa last Dec 2009 due to retained porduct (meron pa daw kasi naiwan na placenta).

TO those who are about to have their medicals...I'd be posting our experience soon for your added info.

To those who have paid their RPRF, will appreciate your insights on my questions below:

1 - It says in the VO's letter that I have to pay CAD$490 or Php21,000 for myself and all accompanying family members. Further, it states that the "fees in pesos are subject to change without prior notice so please visit our website for current fees." Would you have any idea where in the CIC website could I find this link?

2 - Also, where would I mail my bank draft representing the RPRF? The letter states that the RPRF can be submitted through courier using the address found at the "upper right hand corner of this letter." But the address indicated on the upper right-hand corner is P.O. Box 2168 Makati Central Post Office, Makati City. Have you used this address to mail your RPRF and was the embassy able to receive your bank draft?

Thanks in advance.

HELP!!! PLEASE....
Couriers won't accept mail matters if the same are addressed to PO Boxes. I won't course thru my RPRF also to our local post office, first because it might take a long time to reach the embassy, and second, it might get lost.

Has anyone sent the RPRF to the embassy address at the RCBC Plaza despite the instructions to send it to its PO Box.

Would appreciate your reply. My deadline's fast approaching.... :(

Thanks!

try to use DHL (or wwwexpress) delivery. they are the preferred courier of the Embassy of Canada. In fact, this is how they send your passport with your visa on it :)

nothing to worry about.

the CIC website has this to say on medical admissibility.

Medical examinations

You must pass a medical examination before coming to Canada. Your dependants must also pass a medical examination even if they are not coming to Canada with you.

Applications for permanent residence will not be accepted if an applicant’s health:

* is a danger to public health or safety, or
* would cause excessive demand on health or social services in Canada.

check it out at this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-after.asp

i am not a heath care prof but i think what u disclosed to the DMP would not endanger ur admissibility as they do not do not fall to any of the criteria abovecited.

@silverfox
I think ok n yun.
