Hi Guys:

Once again the embassy updated the processing time for the applicants in the Philippines. It is now 77 months, an increase of 1 month from their last update. The number keeps on increasing. It would be interesting to know if the embassy already acted those who applied in April 2005 so we can conclude that indeed the processing of old applicants has been moving.

I applied in march 2005, AOR April 2005. No update yet from CEM.

We applied Nov 2005. I just prayed to our Dear Lord to give us patience to hold on. I hope 2012
is a better year for us.

I think CIC is now working to resolve the backlog problems and we'll just hope by 2012, they will start processing applicants from 2005/6

Mas maganda pala ang case mo kasi kung sakaling ma-approve na ang application mo hinde na mahirap ang pag relocate kasi andoon na pala si Mister mo. Tanong nalang, Kailan? Hanggang saan ang itatagal natin sa kahihintay...

Canada to accept more foreign students as permanent residents

The Government of Canada will be accepting up to 1,000 international PhD students as permanent residents through the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program per year.
Starting November 5, 2011, 1,000 international students who are studying at the doctoral level at in Canada will be eligible to apply for permanent residency through the FSW program. To be eligible for this program, applicants must have completed at least two years of study toward the attainment of a PhD and remain in good academic standing at a provincially recognized post-secondary educational institution in Canada.

“Attracting and retaining immigrants with high levels of skill will help Canada compete in the knowledge-based world economy,” said Minister of State (Science and Technology) Gary Goodyear. “With this initiative, we are telling the innovators of tomorrow that Canada is ready to welcome them and their ideas.”

Regarding Processing Times

On November 2, 2011 I noticed that, as posted in their website, the processing times for the immigrant applicants from the Philippines (Date of Update: October 28, 2011) was 77 months. When I checked it this morning the processing times is 76 months (Date of Update: July 26, 2011). I'm just wondering what factor made them decide to repost the July 26, 2011 update.
