FILIPINO NURSES applying for CNO REGISTRATION ONLY - English and Tagalog posts

Hello fellow nurses im a newbie here. and i just recently forwarded my application to cno.
Just want to share and know your thoughts about the revised regulation that will take effect on jan 2013.

EVIDENCE OF RECENT SAFE PRACTICE WILLBE REDUCED FROM 5 YEARS TO 3 YEARS. Applicants should be able to register before the above mentioned expires. If not met after passing the exam, to meet this requirement, we need to do additional education. Evidence of recent practice can be accepted in 2 ways : graduate from rn program and total of 1125 hours in nursing.

hay grabe! i will really be affected by this changes... so sad! my last practiced was in mar 2010, it will be turning 3 yrs this coming mar. 2013... i really have no idea rin what kind of additional education they 'll be requiring... schooling ba or hospital duty?

I received a letter from CNO just now and it said

''we are writing to inform u about ur status of your application with the CNO and to update u about upcoming chnges to the registration... '' then they talked about the january 2013 changes and they gave me overview of regustration reqts and the withdrawal form. Im so confused. They didnt mention my status.

CALL THE CNO NALANG THEN TELL THEM ABOUT THE LETTER...

hay grabe! i will really be affected by this changes... so sad! my last practiced was in mar 2010, it will be turning 3 yrs this coming mar. 2013... i really have no idea rin what kind of additional education they 'll be requiring... schooling ba or hospital duty?

Hello faithyou, check m ung site n yan may mga related infos jan.. S pagkkbsa ko its a combination of series of courses and clinical duty. Anyway, hows your assessment? I just submitted mine on June, and mukha mattgalan ang assessment nila. So i decided mag pa assess n ng RPN.

i tried to call them ilang beses din pero busy tlga ang line today. nagemail din ako. hays d man lang nla sinabi s letter YES YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO WRITE THE CRNE AND CPRNE EKLAVU BLAH BLAH hehe im so confused.

OMG!!! ok lang sana clinical duty pero yun may series of courses pa ??? :'( :'( :'( kalurki naman!!! it's cno's fault naman bakit nag lapsed na my recent practiced, 15 months ba naman before i received my eligibility... if i'll be taking the exam in february, sana lang w/in 4 weeks irelease na nila result, before maglapse yun 3 yrs ko ....i also submitted din my rpn application last may, wala pa reply...pero my plan is to focus first sa RN application ko... HAAAYY GOODLUCK SA ATIN!!! MAY GOD BLESS US ALL!!!

& sana po Lord wag na matuloy yun changes nila.... ??? ??? ???

di pa ata updated yun website kasi nakalagay palang dun is yun 5 yrs... pano kaya pag 3 yrs lapsed? sana wag na implement yun changes, daming kawawa naman...

Hi sharmei, nktwag nmn ako today.. Kaso un nka hang ako ng 30mins, ngrequest kasi ako ng forms for rpn. Kasi mukha mtgal p bubunuin s pghihintay s RN,ehehehe.. Kaw b sis may rn and rpn application k dn b?

@ faithyou-Nway, share ko lng din i got a friend in ontario processing for rn after 4mons sabi s knya ng cno hndi daw nmeet ung competencies, then almost a year naka received xa ng letter, eligible n daw to take ng rn OR rpn but kung hndi mkregister til dec this year 2012 ung new reg n mag apply. Gustuhin man nya mgtake hndi n dn pwede this year, kasi 90 days prior dapt nkpg reg n for exam. So yun.hehehe.. No choice xa,then naabutan n dn xa nung s 3 years... But very optimistic nmn xa, so kung need ng addtl education, go lang xa., advantage din natin yun..

try to call them early if mga late am na till pm talagang matagal.. try to call them around 9 or 9:30...

it's really TOXIICCC!!! dapat those new changes will be applicable only to new applicants...another toxic thing is, i have long years of experience na nga tapos mag additional education pahh... haaayy OH CANADA OH CANADA.... :'( :'( :'(

pero yun na nga wala naman choice kahit sino kundi sumunod at gumastos sa addional educ na yun...i'm sure medyo mahal yun...

katoxic tlaga yan mga changes na yan!after the very long waiting time, they will surprise everybody with their jan 2013 changes!they're actually after the money not the safety of their patients.there should be some considerations especially to those who already got their eligibilty. being granted an eligibility means you qualify & education & years of practice are already very satisfactory, why all of a sudden now they'll be requiring those experienced nurses to have an additional education.that's not fair!

kaya nga ako once na i apply ko na ang RN ko for assessment if maging eligible man ako, i bridging program ko nalang...

maraming work, pero mostly canadian experience ang hinahanap?? whats the point of all this assessment??
then ang dami pang certificate na kelangan and most of them from known institution preferred?? so gastos nanaman??
