Please see step 2 where I say that this is an option which allows sponsorship, so again, the answer is yes.

Again, I myself am legally married to someone else in the Philippines but I was sponsored by my common law spouse and have been in Canada for over a year now. We did not have a problem with my marriage not being annulled.

My spouse also had full time employment here when we decided she will live with me in the Philippines to achieve common law. My personal opinion is, you have to weigh your priorities and the risks. We risked a high possibility of being rejected for a conjugal sponsorship (even if we have 3 children and have been together for over 10 years) because she has an option to live in the Philippines (as a former Filipino, she is allowed a 1 year stay upon entry). The pros of having a smooth sailing sponsorship application was more important for us rather than her full time high paying job. I received my visa LESS THAN 6 months after IRCC received our application.

Hello, jddd.

Did you use a lawyer? Or just did it yourself?
Thank you.

The application process is straightforward, no lawyer is needed so we did not use one.

No. I do not give out my email. You may open a new thread and see who answers. I will answer if I have any.

What did you apply? Common law or conjugal?
My TRV was approved recently. And have multiple entry for a year. But we plan to apply PR next year. But my question is, do you think i qualify as Conjugal? We are in 3 years of relationship.
Im divorced but not recognized in Philippines. And it takes time to process it( same as annullment) My boyfriend cant stay longer in philippines due to his busy schedule and its not on the plan to stay longer in canada when i’ll visit him because i have children to take care in Phil. So if ever i visit only for a month then back home.

Its highly appreciated if you can give me advice.
Thank you in advance and God Bless.
Have a wonderful day.

You can visit Canada so you do not have an immigration barrier. You are divorced so you do not have a legal barrier. You can get married in Canada and then you can be sponsored as married spouse. So no, I do not think conjugal will work for you.

Thank you so much for taking time reading and replying regarding my concern.
Yes you’re right. So get married in Canada is the option. Thank you @jddd . God Bless
