Hi bsgarzon, did you apply for the cma international accounting designation scholarship, which will grant qualified applicants of 12,200$? im still undecided on what designation to pursue. still waiting from the CGA kung iggrant nla ung fast track saken. if not i may go for the cma. from alberta ka din ba? thanks.

No, I didn't apply for that scholarship thing with CMA Alberta. I'm planning to settle in Ontario eh. Not sure if may equivalent na scholarship sa Ontario, pero parang mukhang wala. Good luck in your decision between CGA vs CMA.

kiking, in my case I had it in red ribbon kasi i have extra copies, just to be sure i acknowledge nila na authentic ang dox ko. but my TOR is certified by the school registrar lng, not in red ribbon. PICPA cert has the dry seal of PICPA mandaluyong. ok naman sa kanila. btw, sa CGA Ontario ko pinadala, i dont know kng ok lng sa ibang province.

sad ako coz my appeal for additional 7 subject to be exempted was denied. maximum daw nila for transfer credits is 7 subjects lng. kaya tuloy i'm thinking of pursuing CA....kasi 1 subject na lng pag-aralan ko, yun lng, i have to find internship with an approved CA training office....kakayanin ko kaya :-[ :-[

@Mimi: I am shocked and at the same time sad when I found out that CGA Ontario denied your appeal. Sobra naman sila. Bakit yung iba, they allowed additional subject to be exempted, parehas lang naman ang board exams natin.

As for me, I have submitted my docs sa CGA Ontario and they have already debited my CC. Hoping and praying that their assessment would turn out well.

kaya nga eh, pero I can still file for an appeal for the last time kasi maximum of 2 appeals daw. pero ayaw ko na. may nagshare ata d2 na nagfile ng 2nd time but discouraged by CGA kasi nga daw our curriculum is already outdated gusto lng nila aral tayo ulit so that we will be updated and it will be a lot easier for us to pass the qualifying exams come to think of it, they have a point

CA Ontario sent an e-mail to me requesting me for additional dox coz I requested for additional exemptions, yng SOA and CKE and some parts of the professional experience rqmts nila. kaya nagpadala na rin ako, no harm in trying at tska free naman, kaya go lng ng go

sana nga kasama ako sa mag DM ngayon. nagfile na ako ng indefinite leave d2 sa office, pagod na ko work..i want to start anew in Canada ASAP ;D ;D ;D

Earlier today, the leaders of the Certified Management Accountants of Canada and the Chartered Accountants of Canada announced they have entered into discussions to explore the possibility of uniting the CMA and CA organizations through the creation of a new professional designation.

Given your expressed interest in pursuing a career in accounting, we know that you may have questions or concerns with respect to this announcement.

I'll back read na lang how you did it. Although, from what I remeber, easy lang sya kasi we were already assessed as a body (PICPA). Tama ba?

hi po sa inyong lahat.. nkakatuwa at nakita ko tong forum na to kase makakapagtanung ako sa talagang mga professional na gaya nio..

gusto ko lang po sana makahingi ng opinion.. im 20 yrs old currently a student of BSA (bale po this october ako gra graduate) and im planning to take the may 2012 cpa board exam.. pero po nkapag pamedical nadin ako at nagaantay nlng ng visa.. naguguluhan po kase ako kung mag take pa po tlga ako ng board exam if ever mapaaga ang bigay ng visa namen within this year.. miss na miss nadin po kase namen ang mommy namen..

kung punta na ba tlga agad sa canada at mag work and eventually kumuha ng CA, CGA or CMA (na naguguluhan padin po ako kung ano ang maganda) or i take ko na muna ang may 2012 board exams at saka pumunta sa canada at kumuha ng designations?

kasi december p lng gusto ko na tlga magresign, kaya lng ala pa visa...long overdue na resignation ko actually, jeje. pero indefinite leave lng muna file ko. im getting myself busy with learning advance MS Office 2007 and 2010, pati quickbooks 2010. doing private practice on the side para di maubos POF ng di pa nakakaalis

if u want to request for addl exemptions, yng CKE and SOA and part of the experience requirement, u need to provide the following:


· A current letter of good standing issued by the accounting body;

· An updated chronological resume indicating place of employment, positions held and length of time employed;

· A completed Experience Certification Report for each former employer and your current employment.

· A letter stating which exemptions and the extent of those exemptions you are seeking and the specific reasons why you believe your request should be granted; and

· If you are admitted to membership, whether you intend to practise public accounting.

hi! ang maganda pag CPA ka na dito is u can avail of certain perks. when u want to pursue CA, u will jst have to take up canadian busnes law, tax and experience reqmt. mas marami din exemptions ma grant pag CPA ka d2 than when ur not if u pursue CGA or CMA.

kakapass ko lang po ng Board this may and aalis na this june. anu po bang mga documents gailng sa prc ang kelangan at anu po yung red ribbon at sa picpa po kelangan pa po ba ko magpamember dun nanghinayang kasi ako sa fee kung ndi ko rin naman mapakikinabangan. sa manitoba winnipeg pala kami.

Dear All -

Share ko lang ang good news. Bukod sa nakuha ko na ang visa namin last week, dumating na rin yung results ng CGA Transfer of Credits application ko. I only applied for 14 Transfer of Credits. I intentionally did not include Business Law and Taxation sa application ko dahil alam ko naman na hindi yon ma-credit dahil magkaiba ang law and tax ng mga bansa natin. I'm just so happy that out of the 14 courses, they credited 11!! Medyo weird lang kase ang hindi nila na-credit is Business Communication, Computer Tutorials and External Auditing. Pero all other accounting subjects ko na-credit nila. I don't know kung ano yung criteria nila pero sana na-credit na rin etong mga to dahil basic lang naman. Anyways, just the same I am so thankful for all the blessings.
