Just an update. I was able to avail of the PICPA reinstatement. 1k ang bayad and will expire on June 2011. Kuha agad ang ID. ;D

Mas OK sana mag CA kaya lang, torn between the cost-benefit of being a CA, CGA and CMA.

Pareho tayo pfcastelo. I was there last November at nagulat ako nung mag-enquire ako sa PICPA about my arrears, ongoing amnesty program nila. Kaya dun sa mga di ba naga-update ng membership, now is the best time. 1k lang. member in good standing ka na ulit :) This is to encourage other members na mag-update.

got my evaluation result from CGA ontario. Kakalungkot lng, only 7 subjects i took here were granted transfer credits.

but I plan to appeal. mahal yata ng assessment fee nila, $401.15 CAD.

advance happy new year everyone!

mimi,

Ilang subjects lahat ang CGA?

I request you to communicate in english so that we can also understand and learn something.

Is it mean that only filipino society should benefit from ur language....?. If your language is common people will remember u.

Anyway its upto u all.

Cool

25 subjects lahat dats. i requested for 14 subjects to be exempted. however, 7 lng na grant. i'm presently collecting course descriptions and syllabi to support my appeal for the remaining subjects. sana lng ma grant.

Happy new year to all!

I'm Gail, a CPA for 4 years now, Alberta po ang destination ko.

This forum has been so helpful since I've read some of the threads. I hope CPAs from the Philippines bound to Canada get to have a bright future but I know that we are to face new challenges and that we shall not frail.

Kumusta po ang mga CPA sa Canada? I hope I can meet new friends here!

eto ang tama: no canadian experience, no work haha ;D

take note: accounting experience po hindi any work :-X

paano ka makakakuha ng accounting experience kung hindi ka nga matanggap sa inaaplayahan mo

pakapalan daw talaga ng mukha at connection ang labanan dito :D

pursuing CGA program in BC: http://www.cga-bc.org/WorkArea/showcontent.aspx?id=7494
requirements:
1. academic component
2. degree requirement
3. PRACTICAL WORK EXPERIENCE requirement :-X

this program will cost you more than 10k cad I think, kung marami kang pera kaya naman di ba :P paano yung wala?

teka nga isip muna ako ng mabuti ::)

Nag land ako last august sa Toronto. Pero bumalik din ako dito sa manila due to work commitments. I'm planning to go back to Toronto in April or May to permanently settle.

di ko din alam. ang alam ko, kailangan magpa-evaluate for transfer credits sa CGA, then i-evaluate nila kung ano pang mga subjects ang kailangan mo pa i-take before becoming a CGA.

Hi

Natapos ko din basahin ang lahat ng posts in this particular topic.

I landed permanent resident last December, CPA po ako sa Philippines. Actually, recent graduate ako of BS Accountancy last year (2010) and the same year din ako naging CPA. I have no work experience here sa Canada and even sa Pinas so medyo nahihirapan ako to find a work in line with our profession.

I already had my credentials evaluated by WES which is 3rd level ang equivalent, and planning to evaluate my TOR to CGA pero I have to find a job first para makapag-paevaluate and makatulong na din sa family.

My plans will be CGA then afterwards CA naman. Tyagaan muna sa paghahanap ng accounting job in my case. Medyo nag-aalangan ako dahil ang mga job postings for accounting clerk here is may minimum na 1-3 years experience. Sometimes naiisip ko bumalik sa Pinas dahil there are a lot of job opportunities for me lalo na sa mga auditing firm. Pero andito na ko so better accept the challenges.

For those who have 3years minimum experience sa accounting field, you can go to careerbridge.ca and see if you can qualify for paid internship programs, pwede din po i-check ang world services cargo website to help you find job placement but ang alam ko is walang bayad ito.

God bless po sa ating lahat.
