Here's our STORY

I'm a Filipino Canadian living in Alberta for almost 20 years already. 27 years old and work as a machinist (Apprentice) in a company for 8 years.

I recently got married last August 2013 with a Filipina. She came here under the live in caregiver program last October 2012. She got laid off from her work last July 30, 2013 as her last day. Her employer doesn't need her anymore because the children was already full time in school.

She's under EI now. She's 6 months pregnant and will apply for maternity leave by January 2014 as her due is on February 2014.

Her current work permit is valid until September 2015.

I'm planning to sponsor her under the APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE: SPOUSE (INLAND) this November 2013 as long as we completed all the requirements.

I met her through her Autie (2nd generation relative) last 2010 through the web. She's working abroad that year. I tried to court her but she didn't allow me because she don't want the others (in my side) think that she was going to used me for her to come here in Canada. We don't have intact communication after that, not because I'm mad at her for not allowing me to court her, but because we're busy in our jobs.

We had sort of communication through imessaging and asked each other how we're doing, but again its not consistent as it would supposed to be.

When she arrived here in Canada last October 2012, she texted me and informed me that she was here already. First week of November 2012 we met and it was the amazing day of my life, meeting her in person that I didn't imagine that the dream girl of my life has finally arrived. Since then, I always visited her every weekends, go on with dinner, watch movies, hang out in the mall and travel in some places.

To make the long story short, we got married! (So happy).

The questions are:

1. Is our story will have a big effect in our application as we don't have a long relationship as boyfriend/girlfriend?
2. What are the possibilities that the immigration will question us and about what?
3. What are the other documents that we can submit with the application just to prove them that our relationship is genuine, although we don't have longer getting to know each other?
4. If we apply this November 2013, do she need to apply for visit visa just before the end of her current permit?
5. Can she apply OWP together with the Spousal Application?
6. Do I need to have my own place to sponsor her? (We're currently living with my parents for the meantime while saving for the down payment for the house)
7. Can I invite her parents from Philippines to visit us here in Canada under the Tourist Visa?
8. Is the pictures of the wedding, honeymoons, gatherings with family and friends will be enough to support our genuine relationship?

Please give me advice.. Your help will be mire appreciated. Thank you so much..

Hi nismopinoy:
1) Your story sounds fine to me. Just tell it like it is, the truth.
2) They may, but it's believable and she's pretty much "made it to Canada" already (it's not like she married you to come here). So I don't think so.
3) Photos are fine, maybe ticket stubs/receipts from sightseeing/movies that you went to together.
4) I don't think she will have to, it seems like you have plenty of time before her WP expires.
5) Yes, she can. Include it with your "inland" application for PR.
6) No, you don't need to have your "own" place.
7) You can try, with no guarantee of success. Friends of ours used an agency in Philippines (paid a fee) - but with success!
8) They could be. In our case it was enough. And our story was only 3 sentences, just to let you know.

All the best! Congrats on your marriage!
