Sorry Michaelab--I was unable to access my computer for a few days. You have to create a personal account to do a prepaid FedEx label. They cannot do it at the office.

Call FedEx if you have questions. They will walk you through it, but, hopefully you are not on dial-up like I was. That was horrid!

And the CIC should really state that either personal or corporate account is fine as long as the return envelope is pre-paid and labeled.
This "corporate" thing can be very confusing! :-\

Thanks OnTheMove and CeeGee for explaining about FedEx. Sounds smart to go ahead and make an account so I won't have to do it the day I get my PPR letter (~wishful thinking coming out~). I guess CIC just want "drop it off" and not wanting to worry about putting an address or paying for stamps! ???

OMG!!! I JUST GOT MY PPR IN THE EMAIL!!! WHOOHOOOOOO!!!!

I'm super excited!! I was starting to get worried that I'd need an interview or that the IO was some nitpicky guy that would just keep asking for random stuff (hear those horror stories on here sometimes...) but I got it! I'm good to go!!!!!
I'm going to go get my pictures taken tonight and mail out my passport either tonight or tomorrow!

Time to pack!!!

A big congratulations. Your little bump in the road, didn't take you far off track.

Wonderful news. (our timelines are back in sync now..................but you'll probably land first :P)

:-* ;D:-* ;D :-* ;D:-*

Thanks for all the support, journeyman! Good luck to you and everyone still waiting

;D :-*

What pictures they asked with your PPR? Is that request pretty much the same for Buffalo, LA, Detroit people as well? I know I am jumping too far ahead but I want to be ready for it. Grats!!!

I'm sure it's pretty standard, but Buffalo asked for 3 photos, same requirements as the original four immigration photos that were sent (except now they say it can be a digital photo). They sent 2 of them back with his passport.

Actaully I'm glad you asked about the pictures because I'm slightly confused about it myself.

Early in the letter it says I need to mail them the following:

$ Current and valid passport. Passport should be valid for at least the next 6 months, or at least until the date of your intended travel to Canada.
$ Two new passport-sized photographs (see instructions attached).
$ Height and eye color (see instructions attached).
$ A copy of this letter.

Then later on it has the instructions. Well the photo instructions are the same as the silly Schedule B ones! They are not passport sized! And it also says this:

IMPORTANT NOTICE

In order to facilitate the issuance of a permanent resident card for each person landing in Canada as a permanent resident, you will be required to supply a recent photograph for each of your family members to an Officer at Port of Entry into Canada. The photograph must meet the specifications set out below:

It is imperative that your photos be compliant with the following specifications otherwise they will be rejected.

• Immigration photographs are not the same as passport photographs.
• Please provide 2 photographs per person.

So wait.. am I supposed to provide 2 passport sized photos AND these? Or just these? Or are they calling the schedule B photos passport sized at the beginning and then contradicting themselves??

Buffalo asked for 3 but returned 2 ::). My husband went to the same place as for the immigration ones (remember, the cut down ones) and again, technically they weren't 100% to specifications, but they must have had no problem, they issued the Visa and sent the PP back within the week. L.A. seems to be only asking for 2.

Additional note: They affix the photo to the COPR and put a stamp in the passport.

BTW enjoy winter in Newfoundland :P. Sorry, couldn't resist :D

So you sent them the Schedule B sized cut ones then?

Haha, brat! I will because I will be snuggling with my hubby!!! :D

Yes. That's what he did. I can't see the satellite offices asking for something different ::). There must be some standards (wait, don't answer that) :-X

Ugh time to get out my ruler and scissors then! :P

Congrats, giggles!

Just an FYI, NYC needs four photos, so each visa office may be slightly different.

Congrats giggles and sbwv09 on getting your PPR (slightly belated as I've been away from the forums for a little bit).

With regards to pictures, the PPR e-mail Buffalo sent us asked for four (4) pictures but the links on the website asked for three (3). So we had four photos made up.

When I handed the passport into the office in person, the "receptionist" would only take two of the photos from me.

When thy returned the passport with the shiny new Visa, one of the pictures had been affixed to the COPR and the other was loose in the envelope.

I not sure that they know what they want or how many they want.

Just another confusing step in the process....
