per the website,

Approved Applicants for Permanent Residence
Submissions of passports are only accepted by mail. Passports are returned by mail within 30 business days. This does not include mailing time.

you can also track the return package.

It looks different Visa offices function in a different way.

Rubyalar,

Did you receive your passport ?

Thanks

my husband has it as he is in Canada now on a work permit while my daughter and I are in our home country. He will send it to me via courier as soon as he has completed his landing, hopefully he can do it today without the need for an appointment.

Thanks

this is my first post here..
@dream23
I noticed that we have the same timeline.
My papers were moved to NY from Buffalo last July 2010. It changed to "In Process" on Sept. 7,2010. Until now, I didn't received my medical request. I guess same person is handling our application.

hi kurt0206..thanks for posting. it's good to know that you are not alone in this situation :).. let's keep in touch on updates... best wishes .dream23

hi dream23
I agree.. it's already four months since my E-cas changed to "IN PROCESS".. I still have 1 year for my work permit to expire and I hope it's enough.. :(

I have question regarding the PPR

When Passport Request is received does it mean we have 2 options to get it done ? :-
1) To personally visit the Canadian Consulate (for people in this thread- New York) and get it stamped with the Visa.
2) Mail it and get it stamped.

If we visit the NY-Canadian Consulate PERSONALLY is it true that VISA STAMPING will be done in 1day ?
How many days will it take it we send the passport through MAIL for stamping ?

I guess for people living near consulate (New York) it makes a lot of sense to go personally and get it stamped the same day rather than mailing and waiting for the Passport to arrive....

Any comments/inputs/thoughts are highly appreciated..
Thanks.
