File transfer from Buffalo- New york visa office- share timeline

My file showed "In Process" on August 27, 2010 and on September 3, 2010 I received a letter from the NY office asking for additional documentation:
1) IELTS test scores (although I have been living in the US for 15 years. My college degrees and all my work experience has been in the US as well.)
2) Bank statements or letter from accountant showing assets and liabilities (does anyone know whether a letter from the bank showing the necessary settlement funds is enough for this?)
3) Proof of status in the US (My H1-B is in the process of being renewed...will my I-797 H1-B approval notice be enough once I get it from the USCIS?)
I have 90 days to send them these documents. The bank statement and IELTS are under my control but I'm hoping the USCIS doesn't take too much longer. I applied for my renewal in June and haven't got anything back yet. So for now I'm back to playing the waiting game with the USCIS...

If Eng is not the native, I don't think they accept the declaration anymore. Anyway, Ielts general is much more easier than Academic for people who is living in US and apparently you were passing 67 mark at this point. They need the "required" IELTS for completing the application. I will be worried more about USCIS, I was having a hard time with them in the past too .

I did send them a self declaration explaining why I don't feel I need to take the IELTS...but apparently they didn't think I was convincing enough, or as smallduck mentioned, they may not be accepting that for applicants whose native language is not English.

I thought once File is transfered to NewYork ,They wont ask further
But shockabsorber case has proved it wrong.

I think for you also IELTS request is waived off, right??

The CIO didn't care about IELTS, so you were not asked for it. And Buffalo now is doing some kinds of sorting transfer application to other office and they wouldn't take a look at the requirement either. Anyway, if you're lucky enough, you'll not be asked IELTS again. I don't have to submit my IELTS or anything from USCIS, yes. They only asked me for a new FBI and bank statement.

Yes, I had sent the inquiry. The response was same as yours i.e. the application is in queue for next stage

I guess 16 point wouldn't be too difficult, you can get 7.5 on 4 skills, can't you ?

Like everybody in this thread, my file is also tranfered to New york on july 27,2010. Then they started processing my file on August 26, 2010. On Sept 7,2010, i got my medical.

Does anybody know how much time it would take for passport request?
Will i get email or snail mail or ecas status for passport request?

Under which category did u apply? Ur meds were fast....did u track if Ottawa recd ur medicals?
