I sent a letter from bank also, which indicates the date when you open account with them, your current balance and your average balance (for the time range you choose 3 months, six months or a year). Bank of America charges 10$ and it takes 5-7 business days to receive the letter.
Citibank call that kind of letter "consular letter". Citibank print it out free for me :)

Waht does below mean,

Dear Madam / Sir,
This is in response to your email (see below).
An initial assessment of your application has been completed and your selection interview has been waived.
However, you may still be required to attend an interview for the purpose of ensuring that you and your dependants (if applicable) are admissible to Canada.
Final approval of your application will require that you meet statutory requirements such as the medical and security provisions of the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations .
No further action is required by you at this time. If your application is being processed within our published service standards, status requests will not be responded to by this office.
If there is any change in your address or family composition, inform us as soon as possible (see our fax number and mailing address below).
For future reference, in all correspondence to our office, please refer to the applicant's full name, date of birth and file number.
Regards,
Thank you for your interest in Canada.
I have no idea what you have to do. But I can say it's really good news. All of those Medical and security are normal. and more importantly "No further action is required by you at this time" You will be receiving Med Req soon ;). Believe it or not :D
Anyway, what VO you are in?

Hi All,

I received my passport request by mail today. The letter was dated Sep 7.

I'm in Canada on a work permit already and apparently the New York visa office would return passports by US Post directly to Canada, so I don't have to send it to a friend in the US to forward to the consulate, etc.

The only issue (isn't there always something?!) is that they require all passports have a validity of 1 yr and mine doesn't. So, I'm going to the consulate in Toronto tomorrow to get an emergency passport issued. Will send it over to New York immediately after. Hope they don't make an issue of the fact that the passport will have a couple of days less than 1 whole year's validity by the time it reaches them.

Good luck to everyone else waiting for their results. Please feel free to send me a note if I can help in anyway. Will continue to keep an eye on the forum until I land and will post an update with those formalities as well.

And thanks to experts like Qorax who spend their time helping others on this forum. You guys rock!

Cheers,
A.

Hi OrangeC

COngratulations on getting the PPR !!!

One or two days should not matter. As per my understanding is that they will stamp the visa validity for one year from the dates medical was submitted to them or till the validity of the passport, which ever comes early.

Since you are in Canada you can do your landing at the earliest and you may not need one year to complete the landing.

I guess you can contact NYVO directly about your case because your application passed 90 days rule for a while. Finding out why it has been delayed is the first thing I'm gonna do. Then the next step might be ordering CAIPS notes and see why :). And I don't know much other than FSW1, other senior member can help you out :). Good luck man!

I shoot e-mail to NY office two days ago and i just received reply that

This is to acknowledge receipt of your application for permanent residence to Canada from our office in Buffalo. Your file is currently with an Immigration Officer for review. In the interim, you must advise this office immediately in writing of any change in your civil status or family composition (i.e. marriage, divorce, birth of new child, etc.) or mailing address.

Thank you for your interest in Canada.
