Yes, after the law is passed, you can challenge some of its clauses - like the powers of the minister to strip citizenships. However, the one that concerns you most - the 4 year physical presence requirement is here to stay.

Ya I would suggest if we could make up a group and challenge it I am not a lawyer we need a lawyer so we can file against it

It is not the lawsuit, and it is not challenging the law since it has not become the law yet, it is the petition we have to file and it is the bill which we need to be challenge. Below is the contact of the lawyer who already challenged it in the court. His contact details are below, please support him :

You realize that the court has no power to stop Parliament from passing a law, right?

That is different. It may be referred to the Court and the court can say yes or no if it is constitutional. And if the court says it is not constitutional (as will most likely happen in the case of the prostitution bill) Parliament can still pass it

Listen friends, first of all we have nothing to loose, the petition can be filled against the clauses or part of the bill which is against the constitution, then the court has to decide whether it is constitutional or unconstitutional. Everything will go on hold till the decision is made by the judge, that period is called the stay order. Let make the things simple for everybody as we can assumed there is no lawyer among us, I shall contact the lawyer and find out is it possible and if it is possible, what we need to do and how to do it. If anybody else know any lawyer please do contact and see what response you can get.

FYI: A stay order cannot be issued against a law that is pending in Parliament. It can only be issued once the law is passed to prevent it from being implemented. So, get your ducks in order and maybe a Judge will stay the implementation of the law as soon as it recieves Royal Assent

I emailed BC civil liberties association earlier. Please do all we can do at this point.

Thanks for your email and for your concern about this issue. Bill C-24 has passed the House of Commons and is now being considered by the Senate. At this point, you could contact BC's senators to tell them how you feel. You can find a list of BC's senators here: http://www.parl.gc.ca/SenatorsMembers/Senate/SenatorsBiography/isenator.asp?Language=E&sortord=P#ProvBC Other than that, there's not much that individuals can do at this point, but it's worth contacting the senators for sure. The more they hear about how people object to the bill the better.

You can find senators in all provinces following that link.
