Hey Thx guys for ur replies.
I understand that, but the thing is when I will be applying for the visa extension of my kid then also our PR details would come up, and we can get reported then. Pls correct me if I'm wrong on this?
Also, I was reading carefully the paper which was stapled to my kid's ppt, the bottom left side of footer says its a IMM 4428.
And under additional information, it says Case Type: 10.
& then there's a conditions column which states: Must Leave Canada by xx June 2016.

@Msafiri, The confusion is from the fact on Visa extension thing (how many times can we apply for extension; cz he has a visitor visa of 1year only & then won't that expose our RO not being.met when we apply for extension) vs sponsoring now, as now we still are under 6months of expiry date.

Hi GRV,

If the chance of getting exposed is really what you're worried about, the chance of that happening is infinitely higher if you initiate the sponsorship application (or even PR renewal when you have not satisfied the residency obligation) right now. For sponsorship to work, the CIC has to first evaluate the eligibility of the sponsor, and as a PR who is in breach of residency obligation, you are currently NOT an eligible sponsor.

So by definition, the sponsorship process will necessarily expose your residency obligation, and if you're worried about losing your PR, odds are far more that you will get into trouble if you commence with the application right now than if you go with the visa extension route.

Thx meyakanor for the reply.
Any idea on Visa extension, as to how the process takes place? I am sure we would be required to furnish our PR details as well?

CIC will not examine your RO for your child's visitor extension.

Ok, & if you can also pls help with as to what can be the reason provided to CIC for extension? cz if I won't apply for sponsorship of his PR so what will be the reason to extend the visitor visa when I apply for extension. And as per the IO, she has maintained notes with probably the UCI no. and that may come to light when I apply for extension. Ain't that right?

Just a one liner should be enough - "To enable sponsorship". You can add a target date so you get a TRP to that duration. Let CIC ask for more info if they need to. CIC deal with thousands of such extension applications every year so they are used to it. The CBSA agents at the border have a more enforcement mindset but as I pointed out before the laws are supreme...the law allows you to file for an extension/multiple extensions...this trumps anything anyone says. Stop sweating the small stuff...you got in without report...focus on your resettlement into Canada.

Good luck

As I already said, they will not examine your RO for the child's extension.

It would be a Visitor Record, not a TRP.

Interesting - are you sure of that reference? Because it doesn't seem to exist in the current CIC/CBSA forms?

Hi Guys,
1 more thing:
Can my wife or I sponsor our parents or parents in law to come & visit us before our PR expires (june 2016)? or they should apply as a tourist But in that case they have to disclose the information that they have their children staying in Canada on PR which is abt to expire?

Can you guys pls advise how to get them here if they are to visit us in next few months? or we should refrain from doing so considering our RO situation.

Thx,
GRV

For GOODNESS SAKE!!. You were *very* lucky to be readmitted to Canada without being reported.

Your parents can apply for tourist visas. Yes, they can & should disclose that they are visiting their family in canada, it won't affect your PR.

No of course you can't "sponsor" them - you can't even sponsor your child until you meet RO.

Hey Guys,
Hope all doing good wherever they are..
Well, myself getting use to the weather getting colder day by day..

Anyways, i have a query as I am on a job hunting spree so I got myself shortlisted and there was a question wherein I needed to confirm that am I available to travel within Canada, USA & internationally (if required). Though I hesitatingly said Yes (need of a job) but now I think- should I make them clear/aware (if i move on to the next round) that I wont be able to travel outside Canada? And also shall I let them know the reason (RO obligation) or not.
Do you guys think telling these things to recruiters will shoo them away?

Or is it possible to travel abroad on a project as I'm employed by a Canadian employer?

Pls advise.
