Fee question

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked before, I was unable to find an answer for it after a search through the forum but that might just be my terrible keywords!

I'm wanting to pay the fees for our inland spousal sponsorship application. I've seen others mention that the total required for the OWP is $255. When I answer the questions on the 'pay your fees' section of the website it's only showing the OWP as $155. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong?

I select the following answers using the fee wizard found here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/pay.asp

- Step 3 Pay Your Fees - Option 1 We Help Choose Your Fees
- Sponsor a family member
- a spouse or common law partner
- I'll pay the RPRF now
- my spouse is already living with me
- Yes to 'Does your spouse or common law partner want to work while we review your application'
- 0 dependent children
- Yes for biometrics

These answers give me a total of $1,280.00 broken down as:
$1,040.00 for application fee, processing and RPRF
$155.00 for OWP
$85.00 for biometrics

Any advice would be appreciated as I really don't want to mess this up!

It is $255. You need to pay the work permit fee and the work permit holder fee.

Editing to add fee list:


Work permit (including extensions) – per person 155
Work permit (including extensions) – group of performing artists (3 or more)465
Open work permit holder 100


I bolded the ones you have to pay.

Also I'm pretty sure inland apps are still exempt from biometrics. I'd only pay that if they ask later on

I didn't even catch that as part of the original post - yes, they are exempt, OP does not need to pay for those.

Thanks for posting this. I already paid just the $155 as that was the automatic amount generated as per poster and I have sent my application last month. How do I pay the additionl $100 OWP holder fee?

You can try paying and submitting a webform and sending the receipt.
