Congrats to you too. Ottawa just asked me to submit passports of me and my spouse along with a copy of "Ready for Visa" email. As I am a within canada applicant, I sent my passports thru' Canada Post Priority post. As directed, I have also enclosed a letter sized self-addressed ExpressPost envelop (National).

I was wondering how long does it take to get back our passports with the visa stamped. Is there a standard timeline for this part of the process?

Hello there, your timeline shows you completed this daunting process already. I just have one final question for you. How long was your visa valid for from the issue date? I am curious as to the duration of the validity given the time when you did you medicals which is very similar to mine. I am still waiting for my passport so your response will help me plan accordingly. Thank you

After calling 1-888-242-2100, wait for message which asks to select an option , you go choose permanent resident applicant and then press keys to reach the part where it asks for your file no and birth year. The message at times can take forever and if the line is busy, they just drop you off, and you start again..

Hey HIr_nirum, I have added your case to the tracker with the information you provided. Can you please go edit anything that is not correct. Like your medical received date and RPRF date. That will be tremendous help.

Application processing time for Quebec skilled Worker is 11 months as of today. I applied May 22nd 2014. April 22nd it will be past 11 months. Not sure whether CIC is following the time lines.

The processing times for ottawa for QSW is now 20 months, up from 18 months for 2014.

Hello Members,

This is my first post in this thread.

I am working in Montreal on work permit and my wife is working as software engieneer with open work permit. We have got the CSQ and applied to federal, the application was recieved on 19th of Jan 2015.
My work contract is coming to end this summer ( I have WP and Visa till feb 2016). I am getting many oppertunities ( Mostly Contract based). I would like to know if it is possible to change my wifes workpermit to closed one , since we both have CSQ. Is she exempt from filing LMO and CAQ and get a closed work permit.

I want an open work permit to shift the jobs easily. My wifes job is more stable at the moment. Is it possbile to do that? Please also tell me any other alternatives.

No, you cannot obtain an open work permit when applying under the QSW program. You can obtain another closed work permit. The CSQ makes you LMIA exempt. The employer merely has to pay the compliance fee. Your wife will obtain a new open work permit as your spouse once your new closed work permit is validated.

i believe you can apply for work permit "by yourself" with CSQ and job offer without any employer fees?

Not any more. They changed this on February 21st this year unfortunately.

No Comment!! , at least make PR process faster instead of adding more restrictions
