Hi Harvie, there are some caveats involved in this. Firstly this is only if you are extending an already existing work permit. If you don't currently have a work permit you still need a LMO and CAQ. This would happen if you are changing jobs for example of if you have been a student and now want to start working. Also this only came into effect on the 1st of June 2012, before this date it was not possible.
