I got a email asked me during the year passed did i went somewhere outside canada, did i work or study, they asked me to redo a schedual A for my history. Cause I didnt go anywhere outside canada, they just renew it and extend my med resault to next year.

My file was transferred to Ottawa in mid-April. I haven't got my GCMS notes - I only applied for them about a week ago so I have no details on Eligibility. I paid my RPRF on June 18th and in August I sent a case-specific enquiry to Ottawa to check they had received it, which is when I discovered that I was already 'in process.'

I asked because your ecas only show "in process" if you passed Eligibility even though your case is already in Process of checking long time ago. Your GCMS notes will tell you exactly when your file is transferred to Ottawa, not your AOR like we all think.

For example, my paper file was transferred to Ottawa on Sept 11 while my ecas shows "in process Sept 3" and I get my AOR in June. I am April applicant, btw. If they treat your file like PNP people, you might get your PPR soon since PNP february get PPR now. There is one QSW apply in Feb get his/her DM already. Check link below.

Then again, you are right. We cant trust ECAS. I know some ppl in this forum get their PPR while "application received". Then within 24 hour, it changes to "in process" then "DM".....

Unfortunately, they don't pay attention to that. I am a process engineer in Mining industry (not sure if it is high list because I got PEQ). May be you will get your CORP or PPR soon. Did you check the link I posted? Another Feb QSW like you got DM.

Hi, yes I follow that thread too. I thought it was very interesting that I paid my RPRF a month before him and I still have nothing! Maybe I'll get my COPR shortly, especially since my ECAS doesn't work. I can't even log on right now.

That sucks. Have you tried application number instead of UIC?

Ya, RPRF doesnt tell you anything though. Some ppl get PPR with RPRF at the same time

Yeah, maybe they're updating the page or something. It looks different to me as well compared to normal.

True dat! Sometimes I wonder if CIC process at random given that there's people from 2011 and early 2012 still waiting!

HI Everyone,
I applied For Federal PR after getting CSQ from Montreal. My application was received on April 24 2013 and then followed by medicals, Police Certificates etc and finally last week ecas changes to in process (16 October we start processing) . Any Idea how long it will take for passport request .

in about 8 weeks to 16 weeks

I have two questions

1. There is no pnp program for Quebec. Should we consider QSW comparable to FSW and pnp? If this is the case then,

for 2012 QSW/pnp applicants, people (majority of pnp and some QSW) who applied till October 2012 have either got ppr or DM

for 2013 QSW/pnp applicants, people (majority of the pnp and no QSW) who applied till February 2013 have either got ppr or DM

2. In this forum (just for QSW) who is the latest applicant who got either DM or PPR? (I know jasmin13, Aug 2012 applicant and harvie, Sep 2012 applicant)


Did anyone notice that they have not updated the processing time for this quarter? May be they want to issue more ppr and DM so the processing time can show decreasing trend.

very good question but have no answer only cio and cpp-o know the answer. this was happen with us also last year when most of the pnp applicant but very few qsw applicants applied in aug ,sep oct 2012 got ppr very quickly (7-8 months) .and most qsw like me jasmin13 and many others have to wait more than one year.
one thing is clear if you get "in process" early. i.e. after 3-6 months that means you get ppr in 7-10 months( from application received).here cio made all the processing.in process means everything is done on the file and is ready to review by officer. cpp-o send only ppr .
second if your file get" in process" later like us i.e. after 11 months to 14 months. there cpp-o made all the processing ,renew medical AND SENT PPR.

but why some cases processed at cio and other processed at cpp-o that I don't understand yet.

Thanks Hav, another question, how did you update your work permit to CPP-O? Just send an Email and give them your info and attach docs?

yes i scan the work permit and sent via email. without asking them

1, your application goes to sydney, to check if you miss any documents in your application, if you got all they need, they gonna transfer to a pilot to process it.
2, when the pilot received it, they give you a AOC to tell you that your application is here.
3, then they start several steps for your application. first they gonna check if you are in the fast pass( like PEQ), if you have, you go first, if not, go in to a queue to wait. but they gonna start to send the applications for your file to another department first.
4, informations they need includes medical exam, criminality inside canada, criminality in your home country, eligibility, security and something else, depends on the applicants. then if you got your med exam , criminality, security and eligibility passed, you gonna go into a reall in process, do the rest jobs , then they start to ask your passport. and made a dicition

also this means only when the applications CIC send to another gov department been finished, they can start to do the rest jobs.
cause things like criminality and security they can not do themself.
Thus until you see ECAS go to in process, means theres nothing about cic. you just wait for the other department check your informations.
only after all these applications done, your PR application goes back to the queue to wait an cic officer give you PPR and DM

Wow. It is a very good research you have. So I guess I will have PPR within next 2 months... I'm curious. In this forum, Is the majority of ppl who has PEQ got fast track? I thought federal treats all QSW the same...

no no no, i have 3 friends learn french with me, and our csq date was april 15, april 28, me may 8, last one oct 10, all in 2012, and we got AOC about 2 month after we got CSQ. the fist got DM at june,2013. second at Oct 1st,2013; me still waiting even not go in process, last one is the most fast, she got at march, 2013. except me, they all go PEQ,

Interesting. The last one. I'm wondering how many country they have to check her security/criminal?

Mine is only canada. I also know someone apply in June 2012 under PEQ and get DM in November 2012. This year, we get the strike problem too.
