My online status has been consistently showing an error message and has never returned to blank i.e. in process/DM/error message.

Yes , Our Lawyers should ask cic whether any of the pre c50 applicant was invited to apply fresh in writing due to scrapping of old applications. BIG NO. It was the duty of cic to ask in writing to apply fresh. and here cic fails in its duty. Court should and must consider this failure on the part of cic and scrap the new law.

If the driving lisence needs changes its the authority who has to inform and not the driver.

one more thing. If CIC was capable of answering queries then they would have even more backlog. Never found CiC to be prompt in replies.

No, The law used by CIC is not to scrap other old law. It is used to scrap backlog, not a law. No one made backlog by intellectuals, instead CIC lack of intellectuals hence create the backlog so long, then just realize after applicants wait more than 7 years.

Let me say if in the next elctions if some other party comes to power and revisit to their policy and scrap conservatives proposals then what you will say in that case. new party will just say that consers were mad and this problem.
