IT is clear now that they inform those whose files were closed when they inquire about it,,,,

Kiwi thanks. But I fail to find the good news about that ,,,,probably the minister means that he will not apply the new criteria,,because the files are going to be closed anyway!!

i think he change his mind becoz FSW program will shut down for a while for them to process the backlog. (in my dreams!)

Harper's Conservative government is creating an intolerant and anti-immigrant culture in Canada and moving the country away from Canada's traditional values of celebrating diversity and multiculturalism.

Minister Kenney has carried out immigration policies that are detrimental to multicultural communities. He turned his back on family reunification with the freezing of parental and grandparent sponsorships, he cut funding to refugee health care and he turned his back on close to 300,000 skilled workers who have been waiting for years to immigrate to Canada.

The Minister consistently uses divisive language that denigrates by trying to create categories of good and bad immigrants. Worst of all, the Minister empowers himself with broad, unfettered and unprecedented powers.

Since obtaining their majority government, it has become clear that Stephen Harper and his gang of Conservatives have ignored and forgotten multicultural communities.

Liberals understand the importance of immigration in Canada. That's why we enshrined multiculturalism in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. And we would do it again because it is still a pillar of Canadian society that strengthens our great nation.

we've all waited for years on end...do we have anything to lose now??...we are still fighting, rather than doing nothing...so there is still hope...

The processing time on CIC for pre-2008 is showing 97 months where as we have already crossed the time frame.
Are they fooling us?

Really very confused and disappointed at this time. One cannot do any planning for family.

the final position was stipulated under Bill C-38...If CIC have their way, the decision was for CIC to close pre-Feb 2008 applications and refund the application fees.

due to this, some applicants are joining the litigation to stop CIC from doing that to their files by questioning the legality of the decision. had it not because of these pending litigations, we would have been receiving refund notices by now...but we haven't just yet...

because of these pending litigations, CIC is holding off closing/refunding the fees. however, this does not stop applicants from asking CIC to close their application and requesting for refund of fees...CIC will be very happy to do that....

forget about the timeframe....you (?) and me are way past that timeframe and there is nothing we can do about it...

remember that even applications under MI1 to MI3 are also experiencing delays/overshooting their timeframes...CIC don't care about timeframes...

until a final decision is handed down by the federal court and you are now certain what is the fate of your application, then there is still hope..

have you been waiting for more than 97 months,,,,waaaaw!
I have been waiting for 60 months and I thought this is too much for a human to bear,,,,
so practically you have applied in August 2004? from Acra or New Delhi,,,,,,probably Damascus as well.
Kenney is a devil, I would tell you no normal human will leave people waiting for 8 years and then turn his back to them so easily

Dear Friends,

Kindly check your application status. I just did .

I am a January 2005 applicant....My earlier status showed that my application was received and they had started processing the same in March 2005...

Now, when I log in I get a message that they are "unable to identify me using the information provided"...One of the reasons given is that "the service is only available to clients with application in process. We may have received your application but not yet begun processing it".

Probably this indicates the end of the road for me.....after a wait of 93 months....
