Hey guys!! I just read EVERY post in this thread and I was thinking, "You know, I want in this thread!!" So here I am guys!!!!
Ok, I'm a newbie to the CSQ thread. So, I hired an immigration lawyer to help me out with all my papers. He's a good, competent guy with 25 yrs experience so I feel ok about using a lawyer (even though it's not the most cost effictive route)
Anyway, I'm a US citizen looking to immigrate to Montreal, Quebec because that is where the love of my life lives and we want to be together. I tried to immigrate through Canada first (Federal Skilled Worker Class) but because I'm 24yrs old I still don't have 'skilled' work experience (I'm a medical clerk on the general medical floor in a fortune 100 hospital)
My questions are:
1. My time line is: Recieved my AOR for CSQ meaning the form that states that they simply recieved my papers, on September 7, 2010. Does the 3-4month clock start on September 7? Meaning I won't get my CSQ until mid Janurary? Also, did anyone have to be interviewed? What grounds would they ask to interview me? Please share your experiences, how exactly does one qualify for CSQ?
2. Also, I'm noticing a lot of people are getting their medicals done AFTER they get their AOR letter from Buffalo stating that they have both recieved their paperwork and money. I got my medical done in April in 2010. I know medicals are good for 1 year so do you guys think that I'm going to have to repeat my medicals? I hope not because it cost me $350 USD.
3. Also, some people say 3 months others say 6 months, once and for all how long are the FBI Criminal Reports good for? Also, I just got mine in late July so if my CSQ is coming in (hopefully!!!!!) on January when should I more or less go and get refinger printed?
4. Any other advice or things I haven't touched on so far that I you guys think I should know or touch on? I know I'm in the early stages of my Quebec application but it's never too early to start getting some knowledge and trying save some time. Can anyone share some time lines? Thanks very much!!
Sorry for the long letter guys, please do forgive me, I'm just so nervous and excited at the same time!!! Thank you all for your wonderful posts and for starting this thread. You're right, there are that many of us for Quebec, why's that????!!!!
Thanks again!!!!!
