next month they will announce, and it is said that they will close it at the end of June, 2012

and all files r transferred to NY visa office, causing pileup of cases, and very likely, delay!

man,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i am speechless now!

What do you mean Buffalo is closing?...Do you mean for the summer holiday or closing down for real?
What about those expecting medical requests?

I don't know how they're going to handle it... I'm also worried because my AOR states that the Buffalo office has a role in processing the PR :'(

"Ø Role of the Buffalo Visa Office

Ø The Buffalo Visa Office may be asked from time to time by this office to perform tasks, such as collecting application fees (for newly added dependants or for the Right of Permanent Residence Fee), conducting interviews or issuing Permanent Residence visas.

Ø You may therefore receive requests originating from the Buffalo Visa Office regarding the payment of fees or for the processing of your application for a permanent resident visa."

But why would they ask Buffalo office to oversee applicants, if they knew they were gonna close down
I think they must have made a better alternatives to this...And also l beleive they are trying to go
independent by way of making use of their office in New York...whatcha think?

Wa Alykum salam Br. I am in the USA. Buffalo asked me to submit my wife FBI. so You know, It will take another couple of months.
I realized that they start processing our application min one year after we submit them. Thus, even if you got the medical request, this does not mean that they checked your file if it is complete or not.
Could you please tell me how to contact the MP? Or this is only for people in Canada?
Thank you...

Salam Brother
I contacted the MP for my district and talked to one of his staff. They said they would try contacting the CIC to inquire about my application and will get back to me within a month.

I am not sure if you can contact them if you're outside of Canada. However, I think the response will be similar to what you would get by filling the IMM5663 form. I will let you know how it goes once they get back to me.

Wasalam,

I think it is going to be faster due to what l read from other posts in other forum. I think they will spread/shared files to different missions within the USA

For the PPR (passport request): does the passport have to be valid for one year when I send it off for visa stamping?

not really, but sure they would require ur passport be valid for 2-3 months, at least

the expiration date of ur PR visa is based on ur medical test date, for example, if u did ur medical exam on november 1, 2011, then if cic decides to grant u pr visa, then the expiration date of that pr visa will be november 1 (or october 31), 2012. so theoretically speaking, u passport only need to be valid for november 1. on top of that, cic would like to give u a couple of months, for u to do the landing, that's why i said cic requires ur passport be valid for 2-3 more months upon passport request (but i remember some1 said cic requires it to be valid for at least 6 months, or 3 months? this part i am not sure, u may need to check with some1 else)

Hello everybody!

I got the medical request on 24th, Avril 2012 and the medical test was done on 9th May 2012. Now, i wonder if they start processing the file according to when they received it or when is it done?
I wanna get an idea about what happens next please? regarding the FBI background check and the payment of the right of permanent residence!

Thank you guys for your help and consideration!

Hello hope-2011-hope
Please can you remember how long it took you to get your medical request after your money/check was cashed?
Thanks

Thanks

In fact, they cashed my cheque on Feb 08/2012 and my application was received on Dec 12 2011. Which means they cashed after two months after my federal application.

I hope thatthis info is helpful enough for your question!
