congrats Fairooz! So happy for you :)

I emailed buffalo and they said that my file is in queue waiting for processing.
Here is my timeline, I currently live in Canada on a study permit:

Application sent Nov. 1 2010
Application rcvd by CIC Nov. 8 2010
Medicals sent by CIC May 24 2011 (actually sent on Apr. 1 2011 to old address)
Extra medical test for spouse July 17 2011
Medicals Results rcvd by CIC Oct. 11 2011 (the date when ecas was updated)

We actually passed the medical exams (and extra test) no more than 15 days after the receipt of the requests.
and we're still waiting :P

I passed my tests on April 7th, a week after i got AOR... still waiting. Ecas was updated on October 11th as well.
Looks like they've forgotten about us Nov and Oct folks :(

Quick question BTW, my current visa ends on Dec 31st.
I know there is still time to come, but in case nothing happens till then, i don't want to have to deal with some more immigration issue and paperwork, that'll be enough and i'm seriously thinking about giving up and going back home. Is it possible to get the money refund if we finally give up ?

Greetings everybody,

Here's my updated timeline.
Sent 18/04/2011 - Rec'd 20/04/2011 - Draft cashed 07/06/2011 - E-cas access 10/19/2011

No signs of AOR and Med Request yet. :P

Hi all,

I got a phone call from Buffalo saying that I have to re-send my cashier's cheque (fees+RPRF) since it expired before they could cash it (91 days today)!. She said she will keep the date of application received as July 2011, and won't change it to October! thank God! She said she will start processing my file once they receive the new cashiers cheque. The lady was very friendly and cracking jokes, but I am a bit worried. I thought I would faint!

any comments?

to biochemgal:

hi how r u?
Dont worry at least this way you know that your file was received and ready to be processed... just send the cheque again :D

I just wanted to let you know that I just found out that my cashier cheque was cashed OCT 24th 2011. Hope to get AOR soon...

There is high possibility to get an interview in buffalo, so do you anything about how easy or difficult is to get visa to US?

reminder my application was received by buffalo on July 8th, 2011.

Good luck biochemgal

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your comments. I am sending the cheques tomorrow morning.

About US visa, you will require a B1/ B2 visa, which is relatively easy to get.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1262.html#4 Go to this link, it has all the information you need to apply. You will need to make an interview appointment at a US consulate nearest to you.

When I applied, I went to the US consulate in downtown montreal with all the forms and documents, waited for 2 hrs, went to the counter where an officer checked everything and asked questions, and took my passport. I got my passport stamped with US visitors visa next day evening.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Congrats to fairooz and gaurav.

Mcfly

if u stop the process they only refund RPRF if paid of course.
I didn't want to get a WP but one of my sister insisted to ask my boss for LMO. I did it and he first said no. For 2 mths, I kept on working and smiling as usual. I didn't complaint when my boss reduced my hrs even, my students were all giving great feedback about me. One called me Angela instead of Andréa cz I amazed him as the admin told me later. It's because of her that my boss finally called me in and said he would do LMO. We faxed it 1 week before i lost my status. Then i recd my passport 4 business days to the expiry of my PGWP. I just completed the form for WP and mailed it the day before the expiry of my status.

I didn't want to apply just like u to get a WP, yet I'm glad I did. Yes, I stayed a month home without working before my boss finally called CIC to ask if I could work while waiting for new WP, he didn't trust me or the guide I gave as proof.. But at least, I was able to stay and when my my sis was delivering I was there.

So u may give up, but I think it's too easy. When my God told me apply for PR, I didn't know the enemy of my soul will send a thief to steal my passport, and didn't know it will begin a long journey of pain and paperwork for me.
now I know, what Job went through in a way. You lose in an instant what you cherish most and yet God is by ur side when you cry... Of anguish... For He loves u and want ur love and trust before helping you. Job lost it all yet like him u got to surrender ur plans, to trust and love and ask HIS help.

Thanks Ae03yy,
I appreciate your support. In such long and exhausting journey, we definitely need people like you who know how to find words to give hope again. God bless you.
That was probably despair and tiredness speaking when i wrote my comment yesterday.
i still don't know wether i am going to renew my WP or not, it is still early to figure this out, i still have two monthes to go. However, if i haven't received anything by Nov 15th, i will take a decision.

Congrats Gaurav, you receiving PPR definitely gives hope again to all of us who are still waiting.

May all of you have a great day.

Hello everyone.

There is this important poll at CBC (http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/inside-politics-blog/2011/10/question-of-the-day-464.html) and I request everyone consider voting at the CBC website link provided above. The poll question is, "Should Canada limit the number of parents and grandparents that it allows to immigrate?" Just vote NO if you plan to sponsor your parents in future and would like them to immigrate to Canada!

Immigration Minister Jason Kenney wants to stop the Parents and Grandparents stream of the Family Class Immigration program, or put limits (caps) on the number of applications CIC accepts. Just like the limits imposed on the Federal Skilled Worker program and the moratorium (stoppage) of the Investors program. So let your voice be heard and even rate others comments by clicking on the "Thumbs Up" or "Thumbs Down" button. Some of the comments posted on the CBC website are full of hate, anger and mis-information against immigrant parents and grandparents. You can also leave your own comments to clarify the matter and show them your point of view.

So please, everyone, visit http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/inside-politics-blog/2011/10/question-of-the-day-464.html vote and rate the comments "Thumbs Down/up". Please do it immediately for our parents' and grandparents' sake.

And.

I've just received an email saying my file was transfered to Detroit... :'(

this will never end... :(
