Step 1 and Step 1. Mostly sponsorship approval.

Currently CIC has stopped accepting new parent sponsorship application.

From http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/index.asp:

Note: As of November 5, 2011, no new applications to sponsor parents or grandparents will be accepted for processing for up to 24 months. This temporary pause will allow us to focus on those applicants already awaiting a decision and reduce the backlog in the parents and grandparents category. This does not affect sponsorship applications for spouses, partners, dependent or adopted children and other eligible relatives. New applications received on or after November 5, 2011, will be returned to the applicant, including fees.

Looks like Raatri filed the initial application in 2008 so this doesn't apply.

On CIC processing times site it says it is updated, but still shows Jan 3 and 55 days. ??? ??? ??? Weird.

No, it still says last updated feb 29.

Well if I go on their website it says updated March 7. But if you check the January thread are having the same discussion. Don't know why it says something different if you go to that site.

Hey febs!

Do you guys have a tracking spreadsheet yet?

I find it helps to watch other months around me to see the track record of the actual processing times.

Let me know, and good luck everyone!

The French site says it is has been updated. But since the English one doesn't and the dates are the same, I would say nothing has been updated.

Hey, I don't think we have the tracking spreadsheet yet. What's the story behind it. I mean how do you make it? or if someone can do this favour..

I saw it on the English site. I don't speak French. But now it says last update Feb.29. Funny.

It's really not hard, just create an excel spreadsheet in google docs and share the link...of course the up keep is the most time consuming but it's worth it.

Anyone knows whats the difference between AOR and Sponsorship Approval? Should we get both or either one of them is fine from CIC?

Thanks!!
