We don't select whether we want a virtual or in-person ceremony during the citizenship application process. The application only asks us to choose the type of certificate (e-cert or paper cert), not the ceremony format. IRCC ultimately decides whether the ceremony will be virtual or in-person, and this decision isn't based on our selection of e-cert or paper cert. We confuse the two (cert and ceremony) :)

For example, my spouse and I each submitted separate applications—mine in February and his in March. We both selected e-cert during application, assuming we would automatically be assigned a virtual ceremony. However, both of us were assigned to an in-person ceremony.
Hope this answers your question.
Thanks for the response.

Sometimes when you call IRCC you get really helpful agents. They go into detail and answer any question you have. Then there are other times when you get some agents and they act like you won't them up from a nap or something (you probably did lol). Plus they give you general statements that leaves you with more questions after the call than before the call.

received ghost update today. On the status tracker it was showing all the older steps with a star mark of New update. No changes, though. LPP still in progress.

Exactly

I don't think LPP 'not started' means that - in reality it's 'in progress'. If you want to see if there's been activity, order gcms notes.
I did, GCMS note says “not-started”. However tracker shows “in-progress”.

I believe prohibition is main; others are like quick and they purposefully hold to make reasons if they don’t want to give.

Well, GCMS note shows 1 year as target date since AOR; so believe decision will be made before that

How do u order gcms notes? What’s the process

Hey hi, Thank you for the details, how soon do they get back with gcms notes? I tried raising webform earlier but its always a generic

Most of the people who applied for gcms notes they got their notes in about 40-45 days, As they suppose to reply to the request within 30 business days. In some cases it takes a bit longer than expected timeline.
In my case, My first gcms notes request wasn't even shown in my file for more than 30 business days, then I applied again and they received the request after 10 days.
