Citizenship Ceremony: In Progress (Updated 10th Nov)
Citizenship Ceremony- 24th Nov (no email yet)

Online Status updated today to attend the citizenship ceremony on 24th November, but I need to change the date to Jan 2022 as I have to travel outside Canada in the first week of December. Can someone please guide me with the process to push the ceremony date? Also need to know if we have the option to select as specific date or they assign randomly ? TIA !

Thanks for your reply. How long it takers to turn "Background Check" to be completed after doing the "Finger Print"?

Took 4 weeks for in our case.

Congrats! You can send an email to the same email address that sent you the test invitation. I got a reply a few hours later for my case.

You could also submit a webform at https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

Remember to include an attachment with your travel itinerary as proof of the need to change the date.

They will assign based on the dates they have available.

You can request expedited certificate delivery or even pick it up yourself, then you can request expedited passport service, I wouldn't postpone oath if I were you. You need to show proof that you are traveling, but the officer will accommodate.

No disrespect meant here but isn't it interesting that some of us are anxious for oath invite and others who got invited are thinking of postponing

Interesting - I applied 6th Feb and so far, only test and background checks have passed. Was your urgent application?

You will only receive an email close to the ceremony date. Since you know already that you won't be able to attend, you should send the email and webform now.

My timeline is in the signature with the information requested.
