Can anyone from the US help me? My husband (American) received DM and pre-arrival almost 2 weeks ago and nothing since. Since it is a visa exempt country, do they just mail him the COPR document to land with, as we submitted photocopies of his passport and photos with the initial application? Or do we still get PPR? I’m confused becuase it has been a long time since DM to have not received PPR yet according to the spreadsheet. Thank you!
They will ask for 2 pictures and to fill a form to be sent out in Ottawa. He should get a COPR from Ottawa but it may take more time than usual.

Thank you SO much for getting back to me. I spoke to a border services agent who seemed to think American citizens just got COPR paperwork mailed to them and then did a physical landing at a port of entry, even during COVID. I'm just concerned because most people get PPR fairly quickly after DM and prearrival, but we haven't gotten it yet nor anything in the mail. Stressful waiting times haha

I just spoke with an IRCC agent. He told me that all the processing of our application is complete and it is now in queue for decision.
God knows how long this queue is and when they would make a decision!
You Ottawa guys are lucky. Us Mississauga folks have been stuck at eligibility and background check since March .

Who so ever wished that their file could have moved to Mississauga, now we all are wondering we wished it wrong lol. Why Mississauga is not doing anything for outland spousal applications? Should we just go to office and ask all together?

Is your spouse travelling to Canada soon?

There have been a few - very few - sporadic reports here of applicants that were at PPR stage (I believe after PPR but possibly after DM) that were travelling to Canada and CBSA did the landing process at the border/port of entry despite not having COPR yet (it came up in their system and they just did the paperwork).

I doubt there is anything you can do to check or arrange this in advance, but to keep in mind that while not common, could happen.

Congrats! Based on their last communications I think they’re supposed to send guidance/instructions on how to send the passport out.
Whats your timeline and visa office btw?
