This is a blessing now. The same have been published in IRCC website as well.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...c-exemption-permanent-residence.html#eligible

I made a call with IRCC and got confirmation on this .The customer service was not aware of exact exemptions yet since it was made operational yesterday . But they confirmed with their team and departments and informed that this is made into effect , and any one who already have a biometrics on their file as part of a previous application [Even Visit] , does not have to take biometrics again . They will automatically fetch it from our file and link it to the permanent residence application.
Ugh that's annoying. My husband just did his AGAIN last Thursday even though we had one on file. Wish I knew this was coming. Even though we already paid. I'm sure they're not giving back money for paying 2x

hello guys, my Sponsorship Application Status is now stated as "Decision Made" but I still haven't receive any request on the bio metric or medical request, is this normal or what does this mean?
You'll get them soon enough. Check CIC account later today.

Hi,

We got a 'decision made' under 'Sponsorship Application Status' in ECAS on Sep 9th, but didn't receive any SA letter in email.

I just spoke with an IRCC agent, she said sponsorship approval letter was emailed to me yesterday (sep 22nd) but I didn't receive anything (I double checked the email address on the file with the agent).

Is anyone else facing the same issue? i.e, SA decision was made a while ago but did not any SA letter in the email?

Did you check your junk mail or even your spouses email? I’m not sure

Mine says decision made too for SA, was
Updated today but didn’t receive anything either. I guess it’s lagging a day or two. Congrats on approval though!

Hey everyone! The much awaited update is finally here..
I got the Bio-metric request for my Wife (PA) today . ECAS still shows In Process.. Any idea how many days it takes after BIL for medical request and sponsor approval?
My timeline is as follows -

App received - Feb 27th
AOR1 - March 12th
BIL - Sep 23rd.

Good luck to all of us!

Hello, my spouse was given CoPR and IM-1 visa this week. We don't know the next steps of how to get him to Canada. When he was mailed his CoPR he was given a letter explaining Covid-19 restrictions and exemptions with travel, and that's it. Has anyone received their CoPR and made arrangements for their spouse to come to Canada? How did you do it? Did you need to apply for a TRV?
Congrats... here is what i found on cic Twitter... see the attached image to the tweet. i think you can make your travel plans based on cic travel guidelines. Spouses are considered immediate family members and dont need any special authorization. Just make sure you have a quarantine plan and follow other general covid guidelines. Can you share an image of the letter you got explaining the covid restrictions
