I just received an email from CIC-Vancouver requesting my fingerprints.
Is this a normal process? not sure why they need my fingerprints- didn't see that as a required doc in the application package.
Below is the body of the email.

The purpose of this notice is to advise you that in order to continue processing your application you will need to provide a set of fingerprints for your clearance.
The attachments to this email will provide you with procedures and what happens next.
· Please read the attached notice carefully to verify where your fingerprints need to be taken.
· Please print the enclosed attachments and bring them with you to the fingerprint agency.
It is very important that we are notified of any changes in your contact information (i.e. address, email, and telephone number).
