Hi everyone, my app was received on Mar 19 and I am expecting to get AOR in Sep. Also my PR is getting expired in Oct 2020. Do I need to renew PR if I don't have any travel plans for a year or so? Can we stay in Canada with expired PR status?

Mailing address: Online it shows "Box 33333" instead of "PO Box 33333". I was verifying the address at canadapost and it was showing with PO in it hence called cic to update it. It seems that they have in their system as PO Box(i dont know if it is in the system or he read it to me like that).

Anyone here using po box as mailing address? Wanting to see how your address shows at your end.

Your pr card is not needed to be on PR status. So its up to you. if you are going to travel outside then its better to be renewing it rather than worrying about it later.

Hopefully, you should receive AOR in Sept, but don't be surprised if it gets delayed as Jan AORs are still coming.
Also, I would recommend you apply for PR renewal, you don't know where the world heading to currently...

Your PR card is not the same as your PR status. The card is used only for travel, you if you do not go outside Canada, you can have an expired card for years before you renew it or get your citizenship.

Fee is $50 per person. Other cost include photo, mailing & make some copies.

Do not worry. The Canada Post employees are smart enough and will understand that the "Box" is actually a "Postal Box"

If I missed a minute detail in the form (I think I did), will I receive an acknowledgement of Receipt email? I received the email with AOR attachment- does it mean my file is moving forward or the file can also be returned after receiving the email too?

Yes. your file is moving forward once you get AOR.
