Hi everyone, we got the ppr mail on my 17th. We plan to do a soft landing next month, and we are also in queue for adopting a child in India. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get approval for family sponsorship of an adopted child from India? Also, while the application is being processed, which visa should we apply in the interim to bring the child with us to Canada?

Family sponsorship takes between 12-24 months. For children, it can be much faster since they do not have to go through security.

For adoption, as long as your documents are in order, it should not be an issue at all. However, it is best to consult an immigration lawyer to deal with any potential issues that may arise in international adoption, especially under various treaties and local laws.

I just received my Ready for Visa e-mail from CIC along with the next steps I need to take . I am happy as well as relieved that our family's efforts have paid off.
I am FSW-O from India. AOR Feb 2nd, 2020.
The last update before the RFV e-mail was that my family and I have passed the re-medicals. This was on May 13th.

I got it done on the 30th of sep 2021
The same was updated as medical passed on 9th oct 2021
What should I expect next? PPR? By when should I expect it? As per your your timeline I’m guessing around Feb 2022? Any help would be appreciated.

I guess it depends, some people do get it a month after re-medicals. Hopefully it is very soon! What's your AOR?

I assume this is based on new medical request by IRCC or extension?.... In any case, it's a good sign.... passport request (PPR) may follow soon......

Most likely.... again it depends on the overall impact of the new covid variant on Canada and other countries....and findings/ research on how deadly the new variant is...

PNP outland ( Nova Scotia ). Medical expired. All other stages cleared except security.

When did you complete your Biometrics?
This Security not started people are mostly post March 2020 AOR.
