Hi there, yes it's free to request your own information under the Privacy Act if you are inland. You didn't have to pay $5 if all you were requesting is your own information. I received a ghost update on Friday , Application/Profile Updated didn’t receive any email though (I believe it’s the second GU as I did get one in March, not sure if I missed something in between, aor 15 feb, PNP inland). My eligibility is under review required since June, as per my latest GCMS notes received in mid September. Any guesses what this GU is about. Thank u.

I did two things simultaneously yesterday. First, as per your advice, I started a chat on the link you shared with Singapore VAC, without noticing that office hours is over for that day. Secondly, I raised a webform. It was a surprise that they replied within 8 hours or so (although the after submission it showed that the reply may come within 28 days. The reply was as follows :

"Visa Application Centres (VAC) in Bangladesh is temporarily closed. Please note that sending passports into or out of Bangladesh by mail or courier is contrary to Bangladesh law. The only approved shipping method is via our Visa Application Centres (VAC) in Bangladesh.

For updates on the resumption of services at VACs, please monitor their website at: https://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/Bangladesh/".

Ohh that’s bad. I wasn’t aware of that law by Bangladesh. If this is the case, in my opinion, you have two choices:

1. Fly to Singapore and submit the passport in that VFS. Once passport is delivered to the consulate, email the office for urgent visa processing and explain what you did.

2. Email the VO as instructed in the PPR later requesting extention for passport submission due to VFS in your home country closed and country law doesn’t allow another method of shipment for passports.

I would go with option 1 but I am crazy and usually money isn’t an issue for such things.

The webform response I received does not mention about the 30 days deadline to submit my passport. They shared the link and advice me to keep watching. I guest in the COVID situation the 30 days deadline for submission of passport does not apply. Moreover, some members of the forum say that their medical automatically changes to complete after 1 year of medical validity (I can do re-medical if needed). If the above two issues are true then, I do not want to hurry. Because, I do not have a plan of 14 days quarantine, even I get CoPR and travel to Canada.

Your thoughts, please.

I think IRCC messed the update in the portal this time.

The whole biometrics section is now a link and clicking it goes to 404.

Did you receive any ghost update? Just before clicking the application, it said "Application/Profile updated" and I click it but nothing to see. But I did notice that point you mentioned, I even clicked it and it took me to an error page like you said.

No it did not show "Application/Profile updated". However - I dont believe in that anymore - the portal is too glitchy to be sure of anything.

... I understand the feeling.... I encountered same scenario in July; had a bit of issue logging into my account initially, but when I was able to, saw ghost-update which eventual turned out to be a glitch....

Allegedly, there were glitches on the applications Friday and Monday. Even if you saw "Application/profile updated" it may have not been so. I'm disappointed in this as well, as I've never seen any updates to my profile after my Biometrics on March 6th.

Not to worry you will receive the Gcms Notes none the less, in some cases it's taking a bit longer than the typical 30 days.
