Does anyone know how long it takes for medical to update in the system

My husband's took six days to be updated. It may depend though on where it is done (how fast physicians are to enter results) and he had his done in London.

Hi everyone

We submitted Bio payment through webform on March 26. Does anyone know how to check if they actually receive the webform. Was hoping we would have received bio request by now.
Hi , you will get an email from CE CSC about your bio payment received. Usually it takes 6-10 days . Good Luck !

I recieved my AOR 1 on April 5. Today the PA's account shows a Biometrics request letter. We still haven'r received the sponsor approval though. Is this normal?

I am also wondering when I will get Medical request? PA has to travel some distance to get BR and MR. I am hoping she has to travel once only and not twice. What shd I do? wait a couple of days?

Biometrics letter can be received at any point after submitting the application.
Regarding receiving the BM and Medical instruction at the same time (or at lease close dates) it is the case most of the time. But there are exceptions. My Medical instruction was issued on 5 March but the Biometrics letter is still has to come. I suggest you do the BIO as soon as you can and do not wait for Medical.

Just got an email from CIC saying they have received my payment for Biometrics last Tuesday and forwarding it to the appropriate officer. So anyday now I gues I could get the request

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if there is any one here who's spouse is expecting a child? as my spouse is. Will this speed up or delay the process any how or it doesn't affect the application. My wife has her medical on Thursday and we also sent a pregnancy report to CIC few days ago but just wondering if anyone else was or is in the same position and what happend.

Thank you very much

FYI, my timeline is

APP received Feb 13
Medical received April 05
Medical booked for April 18th.
waiting on BM

Congrats on baby!

Where is your spouse planning to have the baby? If the baby will be born outside of Canada you will have to update some forms to include your new dependents etc when baby is born. You will also have to provide identification documents for the baby.

I am in this situation - but I am the sponsor and I am having our baby in Canada. With a CDN passport, she can go freely back to Costa Rica with me. (Where we will STAY until this thing is processed!). Our baby is due on May 02 2019. The situation with the baby will do nothing to expedite the file. I have included a personal letter (plea), doctors notes, called my MP, Justin Trudeau etc... very strong case with naturally progressed relationship, yet Hubby will not be here for the birth of our baby in Canada. I am in the same position. We were denied a visitor visa BEFORE we got pregnant - on the grounds of our marriage. They assumed he'd overstay. :rolleyes:o_O

When we found out we were expecting I worked feverishly to get this application in; alas, it was not soon enough. We submitted November 2018 in hopes of a miracle he'd be here and it's looking like no. Baby is now due in 2 weeks. Pleading falls on deaf ears. Luckily my MP reached out but IRCC says "it's a 12 month process". We have yet to even be transferred to local VO. I emailed immigration minister and no response. I have letters of reference from MPs whom I know personally and went to University with, as well as other high ranking officials and still, no change in the process.

On the other hand, baby shouldn't slow down the process much either - tbh especially if the baby is born inside Canada. For us, we will just upload her birth certificate and passport when she is born via webform. She will be born in Canada obviously so that we do not have to go through this just so she can travel.

Shame on Canada honestly. I don't expect special treatment, but it's hardly fair people are welcomed illegally at border points with room and board and a jumpstart on the process and given hotel rooms in the interim. Also seeing rapid-passed apps here is frustrating when we are in such a serious situation that just cannot be replicated in any way (the birth of your baby!) Sorry to rant a bit, :D but I want to give you a realistic picture of what to expect.

Since the day I received AOR and I linked my account, I see the Background check as " We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information". Does this mean they already started our background check or is that the way all the applications are and doesn't mean to indicate about back ground check?

I know the process with CIC doesn't run the same for everyone and we need to be patient but...

Are there cases where applications don't move to a Visa Office? Our app was received early Feb and all seemed to be going along smoothly with AOR, SA, biometrics, and medical. Now we seem stuck before moving to VO and there are a lot of people in Feb that have moved on to this step already from February.

Just curious. I know we can only wait for the next correspondence from them.
We are on a similar path. But our BR MR just been sent a few days ago. Should get passed and updated during this week. But yeah i wonder whats going on there on VO , is really slow.

Are you able to sign into Sponsor ECAS? I have not gotten SA approval and I am having a tough time trying to sign in with SA info, it's not recognizing. Do we have to wait until SA approval to be able to log in?

No, you should be able to sign in with Sponsors UCI number after you recieve AOR. I am able to sign in before the SA approval. I think it will take a couple of days after you recieve AOR to actually be able to see it on ECAS.

Actually even before AOR with the receipt number

*HUZZAH* Ecas has now changed to "In Process". No email to me, but my wife got one requesting a different form of Birth Certificate (hers is the PA short form, which apparently is not sufficient). Progress at last, 60 days after receipt. (And 5 months after first receipt, which got bounced for a missing form).

Did you get a file transfer notification to Visa Office?
