if we have used 06 2018 checklist will the applications will be returned.. As many mentioned there is no link or announcement to check if the checklist has been updated or not. This is really painful.. Why the application will be returned? Why cant they go and ask for any additional document if that's missing in old checklist. It is just a checklist only...

Also I have paid the biometrics fee. I have downloaded all the files in November and filled the application after my marriage in December 2018. Also CIC has not sent any notification stating that they will not accept any application from previous checklist.. And they have changed it so frequently without any notification...

All the forms were successfully validated the only one that I wasn’t able to validate is IMM 5669, when I attempt to validate it I get a message that says “seems like some information is missing. Enter the most recent information first” as I mentioned earlier I have reviewed the form thoroughly and there weren’t any missing information.

4: I had that happen to me initially. The reason it wasn't being validated is because your dates aren't in order. Start with the most recent and go in decreasing order. Also you cant leave any gaps in the timeline (up to the current month for which you would select ongoing)

Feb 28th applicant here, SA in April as well as uploading FBI background check and Schedule A. finished Meds in April, passed medical in May. File was transferred to Los Angeles on June 7th, 2018 and had no updates since, 9 months of silence. My wife(the sponsor) sent a web forum inquiring about the status of our case now that it has been past the year mark. Hope everyone else in this thread is getting near completion, unfortunate some of us are still here waiting after over a year.

Best of luck to you all!

Great post @alaria. Yes, the guide still states CPC Sydney, but it looks like they're directing new applicants to Mississauga from the updated FEB 2019 Document checklist...

I'm assuming that they've made the change over to allow Sydney to catch up with their backlog, but have failed to update the guide. I believe they had a period of time when they last switched over in which if the application was sent to the incorrect office they'd forward it to the right one.
Im having a totally paranoid moment because I checked all the forms just last week and didn't see any updates on the CIC website. I sent my forms for the Syndey address this Saturday, will this impact our application or will it get sent back?

No there’s typically a grace period for any changes made, I wouldn’t worry.

The only minor change in checklist and returning back the application for checklist.. Honestly speaking this is very ridiculous

Everyone, calm down, don't freak out and don't panic!

For all who applied in February and used the checklist dated "December 2018" and all other forms dated "November 2018", you are fine!

You do not need to send another application and you do not need to call IRCC. Stay calm, be patient and your AOR will come in 1-2 months depending on a date you applied.

Having said that, I cannot guarantee your application (or even mine, since I'm also Feb applicant) will not be returned for any reason. But we can't control it and can't know that in advance. Yes, IRCC officers can be totally incompetent, but it's beyond our control. I can assure all of you, we all used the same forms dated Nov or Dec 2018. None of us used new Feb 2019 forms. You are not alone here.

Amen.

I sent my application on March 2nd and I checked the forms that last week of February and there were no changes.

It's concerning to say the least since I'm not really a February applicant.

That being said the changes were very minimal:

IMM5532 question 9:

The wording was changed before it read" If no please explain" now it says something along the lines of " If any of the people listed above did nto attend, please explain"

IMM5589 Police Certificates:

Before there was only a check box section for police records, now there is a space to write the country where the police record is from

Also I noticed comments saying the address had changed, that is not accurate on the new checklist the address is still Sydney.

I truly hope this won't impact my application since I am right on the cusp of the change/

You're saying about common law partners. I was describing spousal sponsorship. All the changes I mentioned about are correct, including the address change. If you take a look at my original message, I'm also specifying the form number for the checklist, which is IMM 5533, and your number is different.

Hello Everyone
I am sponsoring my wife through Outland application.
My application was received by Sydney office on Feb. 1st.
Excuse my ignorance , but how do I register online to follow through ? what do I need to register , my info ( Sponsor) or hers ( Principal applicant)? Do I do it now or do I need first to receive a letter ( AOR) from them?
Greatly appreciate your help
Cheer you all

For everyone worried about the updated forms in February.... DON’T WORRY!

I looked on CitImmCanada twitter and someone asked the same question. They said when a new form is released, they will accept the new form AND the most recent version. Please TRY to use the most updated form to avoid possible delays, but it will not impact eligibility at all.

I just submitted my app yesterday!
Inland spousal sponsorship :)

Does it mean they will accept checklist of June 2018...I have paid biometrics fee and police clearance as requested in the new form in 2019. Also I started to work in December just after my marriage and unfortunately I missed the December checklist. When I have seen the new checklist yesterday I noticed that all my forms are recent, paid the right application fee, police clearance of the place where my spouse lived... The checklist is to ensure that all the right forms and supporting documents are submitted. To my understanding this should not be the issue to return the application. the checklist are changing too frequently with very minor changes...

I am not too sure on that. I printed all forms from the website in January so I don’t believe I used any from June. I would suggest sending them a message on Facebook messenger or Twitter if you can....much faster than trying to call or send a web form. If June was the last time the two forms were updated before February then yes that would mean they would be accepted as they would be the most previous version however I am not sure when they were last updated before February. Sorry I can’t be of more help. Good luck!
