I honestly don’t think anyone knows. There’s been some people say it’s if the application is “easy” then it’ll go to CPC-M but some applicants with “easy” situations have had theirs go to their local VO. Depends on work load too I feel.
My local VO is London which is known to be very very slow. Maybe that is the hold up, I’m not too sure why it’s not been transferred yet o_O
Hopefully yours will not be transferred there . Mine was already transferred to Singapore VO. They are also very slow as per other applicants experience

lol "easy" is super relative ... i think it's more like random ... they put a batch when the batch is back another... most like

I submitted a web form due to the fact that I’m now back in the UK so updated my address as you have to inform them of any changes, but have had no response back? It’s been more than 5 days. Shall I send another?

VO’s don’t do backgrounds checks. Medical, criminality and background checks are all done in mainland Canada. And yes - some travel history, specific circumstances or PA’s nationality can affect the duration of background cheks, but from what I’m seeing it’s VO officers sitting on eligibility checks is what’s really slowing things down. Just my thoughts :)

What is the eligibility bit? Mine hasn’t started yet

To assess the genuineness of your relationship.
That makes sense; few days after AOR we were asked for ADR with showing statuary declaration of common-law, rental agreements etc. That’s most likely why they asked for that so early on. However it still just says “updated” under ADR, not “we are reviewing”

I have noticed this with some people who were asked for ADR very early on in the process that the ‘reviewing’ status change never comes for them. In your case though since they have not transferred your file and the fact that your ADR was related to eligibility which has also not begun for you, the ADR wont be reviewed until it transfers for further processing.

So they will only start reviewing when they transfer it to the VO? And then the “eligibility” may or may not change?
I’m waiting for Medical and File Transfer

Eligibility can say reviewing right from the beginning too (Mine switched fo reviewing a day after I linked to GCKey). I would not give too much importance to what GCKey says at the moment. They mostly evaluate eligibility after the file is transferred. Usually if you haven’t been requested for medicals before transfer its because the officer wants to ensure that your medicals are valid and don’t expire in the event that your processing runs its full course of 1 year (where they request you for remedical). If your file is heading to London Visa Office, the waiting before file transfer could be long. Does your BGC say ‘We are processing your application and will let you know’ or is it in process?

The background check has been in process the whole time, since AOR :)
Yes I have heard that the medical can sometimes be down nearer the end

Hi Guys,
I am in the final stage of submission of spousal sponsorship application.
I have a few queries to which I am unable to find answers for.
Can you please guide me on the below questions-
1. For Checklist imm5533e- Do we mark every checkbox on the left( even if it does not apply) I read somewhere that we mark it to show that we have gone through the content.
For example-
a. [ Are you( the sponsor) living outside Canada? Yes/No.] - I live in Canada, so answered No.
But there is another MAIN checkbox for this question. Should I also check that?

b. Previous relationships[ I do not have any previous relationships]
But there are so many checkboxes with yes/No(for which my answers are NO and a MAIN checkbox.
Should I answer all checkboxes as No and also check the main checkbox?

c. Do you the sponsor have any children who may claim Canadian citizenship? [We do not have any children[]
But do we need to answer this and mark the main checkbox ?

Please guide us here.

2. If I am attaching additional sheet for answering one of the questions on the form.
Do I write full answer on the new sheet or partial answer only? And in the original sheet, is it okay to mention " See attached sheet"?

Appreciate your help on this.

Regards,
Isha

1. Mark the main checkbox on the left too since it shows you have read through what its asking. (Not valid for all though). For Medicals, you do not tick the main checkbox. The rest of which you asked (a,b & c) you can tick the main checkbox on the left. For the financial evaluation question, it asks you to write N/A next to the main checkbox without ticking it so do that.
For my own application if a whole section did not apply to me (like additional information about children) I put a single slash across the box and wrote N/A (No checkmark) and had no issues. (This does not apply to the previous relationship part or any other part where you have to reply ‘yes’ or ‘no’ since those have individual boxes so don’t cross it out).

2. On the new sheet, you copy out the form number, Name of the form then below you write the exact question number along with the alphabet (if applicable, for eg: 2b) as well as the full question you are answering. If the question needs to be answered in a table form you make the table (eg for listing things one after another exactly like in the form). Don’t mention anything on the form. Just attach the additional sheet at the end, they will check it as long as it properly mentions the form name, number and the question number with the full question written (to be on the safer side also write your name, dob, UCI and application number so that sheet does not get misplaced).
