Received medical request yesterday April 17th, paid $220 doctors, $150 x-ray today, blood test scheduled for the 23rd... clinic said $390 total, I’m located in Kelowna, BC. So expensive here, there is only 1 panel physician in town.

So no one has asked this ever, on an open work permit.. do you have to work? Or Can you just have it while sponser ship is in progress?

You dont HAVE to work as far as I know, it just gives you the possibility of doing so. But I'd imagine that if you have an interview at some point they may ask you why you applied for the Work Permit if you had no intentions of working.

If I'm wrong anyone please feel free to correct me.

I have a question for the folks who received their medical requests. Did you receive an update on eCAS at the sametime? I sponsored my wife **Inland - Feb**

trying to understand if the eCAS gets updated at the same time as receiving Medical request.

eCAS Linked: March 23
OWP Approval: April 1
OWP in mail: Waiting

I am still waiting for medical request. Application date Feb 14th.

I did my medical exam on April 16 and it got approved on April 20. Ecas only shows medical exam received. GCkey account shows as it passed.

Same here. Received Feb 8th. AoR March 27. OWP received in mail April 10th. No medical request yet

Feb 14th, 2019 applicant, got the medical request on 17th April but the Open Work permit it`s still in process (the Review of the eligibility has not been started) do I have to Worry? Almost all applicant got the OWP...
