Recently couple of people told that they got letter before PPR email asking them if they can travel before their medical expiry (Which was coming soon). If they are not able to travel, then they would issue a re-medical letter first.

So most likely in your case, your medicals might get extended.
So I got my COPR and visa stamped today.

Current medical expiry is Dec 2019, neither I got remedical request nor I did remedical, still COPR and visa expiry is Oct 2020.

Complete timeline is

ITA 12 Dec 2018
AOR 04 Feb 2019
Medical passed 19 Mar 2019
Bio done 04 Apr 2019
Ghost update 07 Oct 2019
PPR 16 Oct 2019
Passport submitted 20 Oct 2019
COPR and Visa 24 Oct 2019

London VO

All the best to everyone....

Looks like you are close to PPR. But not sure why they have not progressed since last couple of months. Did you get this information from Erin's office?

Erin Weir office sent me exactly the same status update (except the dates) to answer my query on Sep. 30th, 2019. Yet, I have not yet received anything (neither GU nor PPR) till now. If that's a just-waiting-for-the-final-decision situation, I'm wondering what makes officers hesitate to issue PPR?...

I am wondering the same. You wait for the assessments to be passed. Then you are happy about it. You think that the waiting time is over. But no you are still waiting. There is always something new about this process.

Yeah!! When all assessments are passed, the system should just auto trigger the PPR.. What the hell is this final manual approval all about when all the stages have already passed?! And even if this is their procedure, why not just complete the final approval right after the last assessment gets passed, instead of dumping the file back into some other pile or queue.. :/
