They started processing my application to sponsor my husband the middle of January and I didn't get SA until this month. It seems to take much longer for some us. I guess it depends on who we have working on our files and how busy they are.

We have decision made on the sponsor's side and in process on the applicant's side. Our visa office is Ottawa. I don't know why it took so long to get SA, but the wait sure was nerve wracking. It really helps to get away from the computer and not check too often for an update. Toward the end, I was only checking Friday nights. Hopefully, you won't have to wait as long as we did.

SO if we're doing outland US, what would your visa office be?
and does getting SA mean that your application has been sent to it's respective visa office? so shouldn't you be getting AOR2?

I'm sponsoring my American husband outland and our visa office is Ottawa. I think most Americans go through Ottawa, but I'm not positive.

Is it possible to ask fr a extension of document submission? I dont think I will be able to hand in my RCMP Record Check within the asked 30 days so I would need more time. Who and how do I contact for this?

I think the best thing to do is:
1- Obtain a copy of your fingerprints made at the local police station
2- Proof you have contacted the Canadian Authorized company
3- Proof you have sent the fingerprints and paid fees to the authorized company
4- Not sure about this, RCMP may send you an AOR

You can send all this to the VO, that way they know its coming soon.

Hope this helps

I agree with you in theory, this is what I would try to do. Now the big big problem is. I cant get fingerprints anywhere here in Germany. I called several offices (police, public service, immigration...) they all told me that they are either not authorized, nor have the capacities or the proper qualifications to do such a thing. With police here, I would literally have to commit a crime for them to take my fingerprints. Which naturally defeats the whole purpose of getting a criminal record check.

Now what is left is to hope for an extension by IRCC, or what would be ridiculous, fly out to Canada for a week an do it there. This is really annoying.

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding the background check. My sponsorship has beed approved and my husband has been sent to do the medical exam. We have not yet uploaded the Background Ckeck Schedule A. As soon as I got the sponsorship approval they said my husband will receive information ( within 5 days) to upload the Schedule A...but it's been over 8 days now and no messages on the online account and no emails as well.

Please can you tell me does the request to upload additional documents ( like the background check or police certificates) appear in the online account under here??? https://www.screencast.com/t/Nyfv6q10V .................are we searching in the right place?

thanks for your help:-)

Yeah I had high hopes in them but as soon as I said its for RCMP they said its not their responsibility and directed me to the Visa Office in Vienna (Which doesnt take calls).

My wife is currently trying to get a hold of IRCC to see if they can help.
