2-3 weeks is fine. A month and a half is pushing it.

Thanks!

How about a month or max 35 days not more than that? Would CIC be able to answer this if we'd like to know how many days you can actually go out of country?

You can call them and they'd say a month is okay, but if you can limit it to three weeks, it'd be a lot better. We didn't know back then about the PR sponsor shouldn't leave Canada, and my hubby has booked a flight to visit me for a month. We didn't encounter problems with that, however, I cannot guarantee it'd be the same for you. I also noticed on my GCMS notes that they performed a residency check if my hubby is really in Canada before SA. Glad he had the vacation after SA.

Does this apply for canadian citizen too, my husband is going to viisit me and staying for a month, but got SA approval already

We have got the AOR1, got the SA, also linked the application 5 days back but still no document request online (except for email to wait for a correspondence 5 days back for documents)
We are waiting with Sch A and PCC in hand...

How long do we have to wait after SA and linking app to get document request online...
Suggestions please

Hi everyone. Just want to share some info how my application progress.

We received your application for permanent residence on February 2, 2017.
Medical results have been received. ( i done medical upfront)
We sent you correspondence on March 11, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

I haven't got any mail from them yet.

Should i be worried ?

My sponsor got two mails.
First mail from CIC on Mart 7 - confirming that application to sponsor a member of family class has been received
the second mail which sponsor got was on Mart 20. This mail was SA ( in attachment there was PDF file- CIC will continue ti hold the associated Application for PR awaiting to submission of a completed Shedule A background declaration form. Request has or will be sent to PA with instructions etc

Pls tell me, do both of us have to get UCI or? When i try to link my application with GC Key , my sponsor gets the mail that application has been linked to my account and he gets unlinked.

Oh perfect, I want to fly out for a month to meet my wife and I already got SA. Do you think I am still going to have an issue with that? It's good to have an info that they're doing residency check before SA and this is the first time I know about it. Thank you for sharing that information.

Yes, that's why there are apps being refused because the PR isn't in Canada when the app was filed. Some applicants actually don't know that or some are just really pushing their luck not to get caught. Canadian Citizen sponsors can be anywhere in the world while the app is in process, only PR sponsors have limitations.
Based on my personal experience, I think you're good. However, as I said, I am in no position to guarantee you a problem-free vacation. The risk is yours to take. But as always, I wish you all the best in your application. :) Good luck! :)

Thank you for this valuable information and I see that you got your Visa. Congrats!!!

Safe travels! :)

Hello,
Congrats, that email was the Sponsorship Approval.
The PA will receive and email to like the application, some people managed to link it without receiving that email. Give it a go!
After submitting Schedule A you should expect another email informing you that your application has been sent to the Visa Office in XXXXXX

Thanks,

This is a good news! Thank you! My husband already have the CIC account and we are just waiting for the email. They told us it will be sent after 5 days. Hopefully by next week. We will send the Schedule A through the CIC account right?

Do you know what will be the next step after the file transfer?

Thank you!!

The portal says somewhere that only the applicant (and not the sponsor) should link the application in their own login.
So, guess its normal that only one person can link it to their account. (Happened to me too ;)

Btw, let me know when you get request to upload documents. We're waiting for it too. Thanks!
