Hey DBHC:)... I was going through your timeline in the spreadsheet. Well, i am in particular interested in all those people who have been asked additional documents esp PCC. Your timeline seems a bit similar to mine. My question to you is what was it that was requested - PCC?
Thanks in advance for your response.
Hey truthprev! Yep, that's exactly what they wanted – a Dutch police certificate. (It's one of the few police certificates that has be submitted after the initial application, as it requires a letter from CIC.)

Left field question. Does anyone know if an application is assigned to a specific officer? For example, if an application is shelved temporarily (e.g., awaiting documents) does it get picked up again by the same officer or just by whoever is available?

Maybe it's just like crossing the border, like how whatever lane you choose is guaranteed to be the slowest. :D

Thanks DBHC. So can we conclude that they request PCC(Dutch) before starting the real process i.e. before checking the genuineness of relationship and criminal check. And another thing, i guess they put the file on hold while waiting for the PCC. I would want to know and understand how much time does it take to DM after one submits the additional docs esp. PCC. That's why I will keep an eye on your time line and others(if i find any in Feb excelsheet). I can also check January spreadsheet too(thinking out loud)...

I'm not sure I follow. What was it that made you conclude that they request the PCC before starting the process? And also that they put the file on hold while waiting? While both sound perfectly reasonable, I just don't see what I said that led to that conclusion. (It's probably obvious, but I haven't finished my first coffee of the day yet!)

I am so sorry it's all my bad... i had been reading comments here and there and i was writing the word conclude with all those comments in mind which i should have mentioned - "based on my readings of other people's comments we can conclude.... what do you think" something like this I should have written

I really am not sure whether they put the file on hold or not. I am double minded - they should put it on hold because for them this is the basic check and one did not meet that so they won't go any further till the time one does not provide that. Another thought(which is a wishful thinking) - while waiting why don't we finish the relationship check...

Do you know anyone who ordered GC notes. I am wondering if there is something in those notes which can tell us what goes on while they wait for additional docs esp PCC.

you did not finish your first coffee and when i wrote that post of mine, i was going to have the last coffee of the day so i was also not that sane either ;)

cheers!

Hi Truthprev,

There is some information Eagle333 has posted in the thread called "GCMS NOTES WELL EXPLAINED HAS NEVER BEFORE UNTIL NOW"
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/gcms-notes-well-explained-has-never-before-until-now-t390292.0.html

I also had a document request for a RCMP background check, which has been submitted.

Hope this helps!

Hi there, just wondering - had you had a canadian visa before or spent some time here? Just wondering as I also got asked for RCMP check. Such little mysteries we try to solve through this whole process!

I held a work permit and lived in Canada for more than 6 months. My maiden name was also a very common last name as well, which may also be a reason why the check was requested.

Each case is assigned to two officers. One in Mississauga and the other at your designated visa office (Ottawa, London etc)
