Hey guys I wanted to share some information with you given by someone from my VO and that already received the email requesting his passport (his wife is sponsoring him, they applied on September):

"Some additional notes: We completed the medicals prior to sending in the application. We also sent in the police checks as soon as we received AOR2, did not wait for the request. I pre-paid the RPRF as well. The additional documents request was for 4 new passport photos as well as our marriage certificate (although I already sent it with the original application). "

So if you already received AOR2, you should start requesting the police checks, for the moment they ask for your documents.

For requesting police checks, do you mean only those who didn't submit it with their initial application? My husband and I submitted everything with our package, my medical, police clearance, etc.

It took the FBI about 4 months to send me the police clearance, and that was the main thing we were waiting on before we submitted our paperwork.

:o 2 week?? Plus 1month wait before they release the CSQ... Well... as they say, patience is a virtue... thanks for the info. ;D

As Charno said, it took ~ two weeks for payment to be processed for me (March 22 - April 4). I would also say that it will take closer to five weeks to process it, instead of a month.

FBI background check indeed. For Colombians or anyone going through Bogota VO usually send a police clearance but it's not FBI clearance, so yeah I guess you're good to go.

There are some police certificates that you can only request after submitting your application. For example, the Dutch police certificate. First, you must submit your application, then CIC will send you a letter requesting a Dutch police certificate that you must forward to the Dutch Ministry of Justice who will then send you a police certificate, which you then send to CIC. Urgh. :o

I guess all countries are different then, for Bogota VO you only need the applicant's new UCI or file number to ask for them with a company specialized in that.

That makes more sense, I didn't know it varied by country for when it could be obtained. For US they'll pretty much give them out at any time/for any reason and send it directly to your home address.

Guys, someone keps screwing with our Feb Spreadsheet. All the VO Offices are messed up. My fellow Lima Applicants are suddenly Hong Kong & Delhi >:(

This is by far the most stressful paper work I've ever gone through, it's so confusing and seriously just the fact that all cases are different makes it a lot tougher. It's so exhausting, I think I've never been so happy whenever I see I have an unread message on my junk mail.

Mine hasn't changed, still Ottawa. There should be an option to restore to a previous version/view history, but that may be only for the author.

I think that in most countries you can ask for it up front. I did that with both my US and UK police certificates. (The UK were really quick whereas the US was ridiculously slow.) Now I'm just waiting for the letter from CIC so I can request a Dutch police certificate. I did supply CIC with a Dutch police certificate several years ago when I lived in Canada on a temporary work permit, but I doubt they'll have kept that on file. :(

AOR2 is the VO telling you that they have received the application. So the New Delhi VO would send you AOR2 when they receive the Permanent Residence part of the application. Some VOs don't send AOR2 though, so you won't receive an email in that case. But (I think) it should still show up in your ECAS online when AOR2 has been received.
