I am not expecting the CIC to be overly quick with mail so I will update you all once I have received the COPR in my mailbox.. it still says "Decision Made" on ECAS as well as showing "In Process" for my sponsor's application.. not worried about the In Process Status as that's just ECAS not updating..

Anyone else with DM yet?
Mine also says "Decision Made". Does this mean that it is approved? Or possibility of rejection?

I logged on today to check the status of my application and noticed that mine too says "Decision Made" however no further explanation. They have not requested an interview from us or anything. I am not entirely sure what to think, if this means approved or denied... or if I just have to wait to find out. It seems awfully fast as they only started processing my application in March. Does anyone have any insight to this?
My insight would be to be excited, I doubt it's anything negative.

Hello Christinamh,

may I ask, what exactly is your timeline and Visa Office? I can't find you on our spreadsheets.
Are you from a Visa exempt country?
They usually don't deny you unless it's misrepresentation, they found a criminal issue or you failed to submit documents and they cancel it
Usually they would invite you to an interview before denying the visa.
So i think it's pretty safe to assume you should be getting good news soon

Hi there, thanks for responding.
I am American (visa exempt) and my husband is Canadian. We submitted our application on February 12, 2016. We received email notification that our application was received on March 17, 2016. We received sponsorship approval on March 21, 2016. It says they started processing our application on March 29, 2016.

This went much faster than I expected it to. I expected to be waiting at least 6 months. What happens now? How long should I expect before I received correspondence by mail?

Congratulations!! Looks like you're almost done with this part of your life! All you have to do now, is wait for your Confirmation Of Permanent Residency (COPR) Document. Once you receive that, you can land as a permanent resident at any border crossing/ airport in canada!

You will still need to leave and re-enter Canada to land as a PR or attend a meeting at a CIC office which will take a considerably longer time to do. I would recommend flag poling at the nearest border crossing to you.

I am close to a land crossing, so we could just drive across and come back through right?

You would simply tell immigration on the US side you plan to flagpole and land as a PR in Canada. They will turn you back around and then you do your landing in Canada.

Sent a copy of my CSQ via CPC-M's fax number.

To be certain, I also used the case specific enquiry system to do the same.

I couldn't find an email address for CPC-Mississauga - that is why I went with the Case Specific Enquiry option.

Or else I might have just sent them the email.

Did they not supply you with an email address? Or did they not ask for it yet?

They did not ask for it yet. Wanted to be proactive and get it to them as soon as I could; however, it is possible that they will ask for the original, at which point I will have to send this in to them.
