Thanks for the info. I am also curious, are there any of these statistics you are mentioning available anywhere? I have to say, on the one hand it seems like the number of people CIC says will accept seems quite big, on the other - I don't know how many applications there are going to be. And I wonder, do you know of anyone who was rejected just because of the quota?

On the whole though, I do agree there would have to be a good reason, and a strong application should make one hopeful!

So good luck all you guys! :)
CIC statistics concerning family sponsorship approval rates can be found searching with google.

No, I've never heard of anyone being denied because of the quota. For parents sponsorship they simply stop accepting additional applications and close the program until the next calendar year when they reach the maximum. It is not the same case for spousal sponsorship.

Thanks a lot guys and good luck with your applications!

Guys.. In the AOR2 I received, they are asking for additional documents..

We have received your application for permanent residence in Canada and have created a file with the file number indicated above. Please quote this file number in all future correspondence with our office.

In order to expedite the processing of your application, we are requesting that you provide the following as soon as possible:
· Proof of payment of your Right of Permanent Resident Fee (landing fee) to our office in Mississauga or by your sponsor in Canada, if not already paid. Note: dependent children are not required to pay the Right of Permanent Resident Fee.
· Submission of police clearance certificates for you and all dependent family members who are 18 years or older, for time spent in any country for a period of 6 months or more, if not already submitted. Note: If you or your family members were under 18 years of age (16 years of age in certain jurisdictions) for the entire time you lived in a particular country, you do not need to provide a police certificate for that country.

Is this a general standard email or I have to resubmit these documents. They have the orginal police clearance already and the fee receipt. Please advise experts..

My wife did not have that in her AOR2 email. We also paid all fees upfront and included original PCC with the application.

I got the same email, and this is just an automatically generated email. If you have all the documents required in the email, you can simply ignore it. For me I did find out one document I needed to resend. Because there is a requirement change there, before they only asked for my wife's last 10 year's history, and now they required all the history since she was 18. So we have to fill out a new form and resubmitted it. Besides that, we don't need to do anything like your case.

This is a standard email from NDVO. You don't have to respond to this email if you have already submitted RPRF and PCC.

And congrats on getting the AOR2. I also got mine yesterday.

Yes, I got the same standard email.

In my case, I do want to resubmit the PCC since the original one has long past the 6 month validity (it was done back in August 2015).

The email didn't specify whether to submit via email or snail mail. Anyone has a clue?

My is different

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada which was received at this office on 02/01/2016.

We have created a file with the application number provided above. You must quote this application number in any future correspondence.

Processing time

Processing times vary. You can consult the processing times for reference at:www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/ Please be aware that answering e-mails takes time away from processing applications. For this reason, unless your application has exceeded normal processing times, please limit your correspondence to notifying us of changes in your application.

Interview

You will be notified of the appointment for your interview, if required, approximately one month prior to the date of the interview, and you will be provided with further instructions at that time.

Section 15 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act authorizes an officer to proceed with an examination where a person makes an application for permanent residence in Canada for the purpose of determining whether the person and all his or her accompanying family members, appear to be persons who may be granted entry into Canada. To proceed with an examination, a personal interview is frequently required. Section 16 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act states that a person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination. If an applicant appears for the interview without all the family members as required by the officer, then the required examination cannot be completed. This means that the applicant would be found to be inadmissible to Canada as a foreign national by virtue of the fact that he or she is unable to comply with all the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and the Regulations, following sections 11 and 41 of the Act.

I think the standard email varies by VO as mine was not like the above post from NDVO nor yours from Bogota

Submit through email and post both.
