Does anybody know what does the embassy do with an application once they send AOR2? Do they look at it and start processing, or they just open it and put it in the correct category, while it sits there until it's time comes?

Hi JennaJ,

It looks like they just want a fully completed Appendix A, and a photocopy of your receipt. You don't need to send in your actual passport, but I believe Appendix A asks for a photocopy of the biopage - the page with your picture and all important information.

I got the same letter except for the RPRF. In my understanding, the actual passport has to be sent together with the completed Appendix A. A family member who is non accompanying does not need to send his or her actual passport or details of the passport. Can someone please confirm if my understanding is correct?

If the passport is required it will be written in the letter clearly.... such as this example.

In order to complete the process you must submit the following"

1. The original passports for yourself and every family member who will accompany you to Canada.

2. Completed Appendix A (attached)

The above are parts of the letter that my wife received requesting her passport.

Thanks for the clarification Chris. Did CEM also requested for Appendix B (Immigration photos)? It is not indicated in the form how many photos should be submitted. What do you think may happen if my spouse sends his original passport to CEM together with Appendix A and B even though the original passport is not yet requested? Will they send it back? Just curious. Thanks.

Yes, when my wife received her request she was asked for Original passport, Appendix A, and Appendix B she needed 2 recent photographs.

What I think will happen is the passport would be filed and just held on to. Then when its needed he will once again be asked for Appendix B at the minimum for updated immigration photos. Think carefully before submitting the passport if it is not specifically asked for. In case the passport is needed for travel.

Yes my consutant actually got the email yesterday about the confirmation for aor#2 from CEM. Sometimes ecas will be updated after few days, but I don't really mind abt ecas as long as I'm getting the email frm them.

My spouse will send his original passport together with Appendix A and B. Chris is correct. CEM will most likely hold on to the passport. The only downside is, my spouse will not be able to travel. I will let you know what happens in the coming weeks.

I thought to send my passport as well but my consultant insisted we have to wait for CEM to ask. Anyways keep me posted. Good luck to us! Hope the process won't take long.

I believe the Appendix A that the Prinicpal Applicant submitted in the beginning is a Document checklist. MVO is requesting my spouse (Principal Applicant) to submit a completed Appendix A. At the bottom left of this form, it indicates "Passport Request" and I assume this is the name of the form. It is asking for the applicant's personal info such as name, dob, passport#, height, contact # and address where to return the passport. You are correct about Appendix B. My spouse sent 9 photos which he included in the application package but MVO is requesting for more photos but it is not indicated in the letter nor in Appendix B how many photos my spouse needs to send.

Ask ko lang anong status ng ecas ng wife mo at the time na ngpassport request ang embassy kasi ang bilis nyo nkuha ung visa e. Thanks!
