Yes you are right, I'm pretty sure that they used other option coz one of my friend did same thing and he got work permit instead open one.

Hi Jack...when applying you have to make sure that you tick "open work permit" option..and you will get it

Form IMM5710 question 3 "I am applying for one or more of the following ": it has 4 options
1) A WP with the same employer
2)An initial WP or a WP with a new employer
3) Restoration of your status as a worker
4)Temporary resident permit

Which option did you select to get New open WP option 1 or 4 ???? I am kind a confuse

first I selected option 4 and gave me an error saying that you will also have to make a choice from option 1 and 2 you cant select just option 4. so I selected option 1 and 4 . I don't know what to do still confuse.

I think that number 4 refers to the visa (in case you have to reenter canada)
That is why it is giving you an error because you couldn't apply for a visa if you dont have study or work permit......unless you are a visitor (which you are not).
So In my opinion it should be number 2.

We all in same compartment of slow moving train ;D, Mine is "In Process" since Sept-11, I have applied my GCMS notes & I should be received it around next week or so, but one thing is absolutely correct, "We are in Dreaming mode" at this point of time, LOL ;D
